ONE OF THE BEST CHIPS I EVER BOUGHT

This Chip is a total BEAST! I have mine mated up with a Asus V-Pro Mobo and an EVGA GTX 570 and all I have to say is WOW.

I put a very light Overclock to 4Ghz and this thing Runs all the latest graphics-intensive games on the Highest settings with EASE! Simple to install and a very cool runner, mine never gets above 60 degrees even at full load on benchmarks.

I also have this in a HafX case with 5 fans as well as water-cooling so heat will never be a problem anyway but I really think even if I had this chip cooled on air alone, it would still run cool.

I got a good deal on this chip($265)used and struck gold! My chip runs(slightly over stock rated speed of 3.5) 3.6 at stock speed. And I have read that the Batch number with 2nd Gen i7's and newer means very little and that it's a relative crap-shoot to get a Cherry unlike 1st Gen i7's where you wanted certian batch#'s to get the real good part of the wafer for a good performer.

Most bang you will get for under $500!

I bought this product because at the time it was the fastest processor and had a great price. I would have bought the 2600K however the 1MHZ difference was enough for me.

What I like about it is that it chews through everything. I used to have a q6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz. This processor blows it out of the water. My framerate used to vary a lot and I just thought that was because of the game. I couldn't be more wrong my CPU was bottlenecking my gtx 480 big time even at 1680x1050. Now, almost every game I play there is a HIGHLY noticeable increase in performance. The framerate is more stable and its higher. Even my Boot times are faster. I can't explain to you enough how it improved my game performance its incredible.

What I don't like is that it is a bit hotter than my old quad. I noticed that my corsair H50 will not keep it cooled well enough to keep a overclock 24/7. However I'm here to tell you that YOU WILL NOT NEED TO OVERCLOCK IT! So pretty much there are no cons.Read full review...
