A good value
This is basically the same as a Core i7 3770, and the E3-1245 v2 even has Integrated Graphics. There are a few minor differences but if you're running the CPU at stock settings then you'll never notice.
An unknown fact is a 3770, non K, will have a multiplier limit of 42 or 43 on a P67, z68, or z77 motherboard. The E3-1245 v2 has no such limit and the multiplier will either be capped at 34, 37, or 38.... depending on the motherboard.
This CPU is still great for a budget gaming build, provided that you can get this CPU at a low price. Please verify if the Xeon E3 v2 CPU's would be compatible with your motherboard. In some cases a BIOS update may be needed to run this CPU.Read full review
