The little CPU that could...

This went into a gaming system I built for myself about 10 years ago that has now been passed on to my 13-yo. It is replacing an E-8400 (which had replaced an E-6600). The increase in CPU cores is definitely noticeable in the games he plays and will extend the life of the PC a couple more years.Read full review

Easy install, good performance

It does exactly what it was designed for. My only gripe was that despite it having an average Passmark score of ~3000, it does not transcode MPEG2 to H.264 very efficiently (especially important for pushing broadcast signal from antenna through Plex). This task may be a bridge too far for legacy systems.Read full review

Good performance at a good price.

Quad core CPU performs well. Mated with an Intel Motherboard and 8 gigs of RAM. Windows 10 on the cheap. A current CPU and board would cost 10 X more and might only match the performance of this combo.Read full review

Great condition!

UPDATE: I tossed it in my lga 775 rig and it works fine. 10/10

Note: It will be a while until I can access my LGA 775 PC again to test this CPU

This CPU looks like it's in very good condition.
Heatsink is still factory-smooth.
LGA contacts have no blemishes.

Great for LGA775

Really old but now cheap CPU. Still performs well for day to day tasks and great choice if you still use LGA775 socket. easy to OC to 3GHz

Overclocked Long-live the Q6600 Quad Core

Intel Q6600 paired with a GTX 750 Ti, yes you can still light game on this in 2021. Very easily overclocked to 3.60 GHz with an Arctic air cooler was impressed with the speed I would compare this to an i5 2300Read full review

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600

As expected this cpu performs very well indeed, with low temperature, good performance.
I appreciate it for people who still use motherboards with LGA775.
Love it !

Great Performance, Even After All These Years.

While quad-core processors are finally becoming a must have for gaming, casual usage such as browsing the web or watching videos is made really easy with the Q6600, despite it's age. If you're looking for a budget system for casual usage, this processor might be for you, and it works in most pre-builts! This processor might not be strong in gaming, but as along as you don't have a super over powered GPU, you can play some causal and major titles, with some tweaks and setting changes. Overall, it's a great processor if you're more of a content consumer, rather than a content creator, and don't mind tweaking settings in games.Read full review

Get a little more from your old Core 2 duo

I swapped processors on a Dell Optiplex 330. It had a Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHZ. But I found out through forums that it would boot a Core2 Quad processor. It's one way to cheaply get more time from an older computer. Now Youtube works like it should, and Web browsing is normal. I suppose it almost warrants a cheap Video card if I wanted to sped things up a bit more.Read full review
