A nice and affordable upgrade to an older system
After reading reviews and other writings regarding this processor , i came to the conclusion that it was right for my needs . This processor is very easily overclocked and remains stable under load with everything i threw at it thus far . Although i now need a better cooler for it to keep a sustained overclock of 3.2 ghz ( if i remember correctly) and keep the temps down as best as possible . So far so good . I will update if i feel it is needed .Read full review

Amazing processor
When I replaced my old Core 2 duo for this, I immediately saw a difference in speed. 100% would recommend.

Cheap but powerful upgrade for Optiplex 745 SFF
Upgraded a eE6300. The Geekbench on the PC went from about 1200 to 4000. Windows Experience Index for the CPU went from 4.7 to 7.1. Boot time went from 107 seconds to 87 seconds. It's not amazing but the PC is finally bearable. Some games that were unplayable are now playable, e.g. StarWars Force Unleashed.Read full review

upgraded to this
think i was using a pentium 4 or "D" prior to this cpu. it had a lot of good reviews and was the max my pc can use as far as bus speed goes. good upgrade. well worth the money. works well with my pny gtx 560ti xlr8 enthusiast graphics card playing 2k videos on youtube.Read full review

Upgrade
Upgraded my acer m5630 with this core 2 quad. Absolutely love it. Gave my old desktop a new lease on life! Maybe could use it for another 5-8 years again. Plays 1080p movies now without a hitch. Perfect.Read full review

Performs great, although pretty hot
This is the SL9UM (B3 stepping) which is the older version of the q6600. I'd recomend buying the SLACR (G0 stepping) instead as that's cooler and overclocks better. This is still a good buy, just make sure you have a good cooler.Read full review

Revive a Dell PC?
I used this LGA775 chip to upgrade an old Dell Inspiron 351 to an entry-level media workstation. I had to upgrade the original motherboard as well-- make sure you get the "--03" board, which was OEM for a small percentage of this machine. I had to add a video card, of course, in this case a Radeon HD5670.
I am very pleased with the performance of this chip in this configuration, which cost less than $100 in upgrades (not including RAM).Read full review
