It took me 8000 m

Gripping story of a man haunted by his ascent of Everest. The account is first person, making it even more compelling. His candor about his own mistakes and regrets adds validity to the other content. Well written.Read full review...

Good read.

The book was a gripping account of an Everest climb. The only negative is the first page says In Memory of before I started reading I already know who died. Would rather find out by reading.

Into Thin Air By, Jon Kraukauer

Into Thin Air: A personal account of the mount everest disaster. Nonfiction: It is a great adventure book rated by many as one of the all time best, it reccounts struggles unimaginable to the common human. The persistence and determination among the characters of this book will not only have you questioning their sanity but questioning your self, it will have you wondering about your own potential, whether or not you could put up with the hardship that is summiting Mount Everest. The situations climbers go through in this story of victory, and tragedy will give you a new and sometimes disturbing perspective into the minds of extreme climbers, and will redefine your ideas of how much the human body can endure.Read full review...

Good story but written as a newspaper article

Fascinating story and great book to discover the world of mountaineering and in particular Mount Everest climbing business. However, the story is written with a very cold and journalistic point of view and may lack some literature style that would bring emotions to the reader. I would recommend the book to anyone really interested in the facts and this specific universe.Read full review...

Good true story book

Read this book a couple of times. Makes you wonder why the heck would anyone torture themselves to reach the top of Everest. Nature wins in this story.
