A classic Snoopy favorite!

Recently, I tried to watch what TV shows my nephews enjoy. I found myself disappointed and frustrated that I couldn't find something that a 3 yr. old, 5 yr. old, 12 yr. old, and myself would all enjoy watching; until I decided to put in a "Snoopy" DVD. The moment I put it on, we were all laughing and enjoying the stories. This one is no exception. From the very start, all of them recognized the characters. My 5 yr. old and 3 yr. old can identify with Charlie Brown's attempt to understand the holiday, Linus' need for a security blanket, and Snoopy doing his happy dance. We all laugh out loud, without violence or crude humor beyond their comprehension. The Easter beagle has some great, easy story lines, like Peppermint Patty's futile attempt to teach Marcie to color eggs; and Snoopy's repeated trials of getting a proper home for his friend, Woodstock. It is a really upbeat and fun episode, with a great message about how holidays are commercialized and how to celebrate Spring. The bonus episode, "It's Arbor Day," I hadn't seen before. Charlie Brown's friends decide to surprise him by planting a garden in his name. What they didn't tell him was that it was the baseball field! A lot of fun, bright colors and funny moments, and a great way to watch a "Snoopy" show, since Snoopy is heavily featured. I am really glad I bought it, since VHS is no longer in style!Read full review...

It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown

All the favorite Peanuts gang are in this one; Snoopy, Woodstock, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Lucy, Linus, Sally and of course, Charlie Brown. Linus insists that the Easter Beagle passes out the colored Easter eggs to all the good little boys and girls on Easter morning. The others don't believe him. Schroeder says Easter is a time for reflection and renewal, while Lucy says it is just another great opportunity for getting presents. Sally wants to believe in her big brother because she loves him, but she has her doubts. So what is Easter all about?
The part where Peppermint Patty is showing Marcie how to color eggs is one of the best of all the Peanuts classics. The music is kind of catchy as usual. Made in 1974, this is a very nice family feature everyone can enjoy. It is one of the best 3 or 4 features ever produced by the creator, Charles Schulz.
The bonus feature included is "It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown." This is a somewhat unknown Peanuts animation that is pretty good, despite the title. Snoopy's laughter in the library is something the kids will love. Linus explains the reason why we have Arbor Day and in the meantime, it's almost baseball season (again.) The kids decide to plant the field.Yes, Charlie Brown's baseball field, with trees in recognition of the holliday. Of course, that is a problem and what the story is all about.
Again, this is not a bad accompanying bonus feature. The antics of Snoopy and Woodstock are fun to watch. And the good intentions of Charlie Brown's friends has to prevail. Or does it? A nice family DVD.

VERY CUTE :)

I love all of the Charlie Brown DVDs...they are cute, age appropriate for any age...& they pack a lot of positive information both educational, & morally speaking into each video. It is full of common sense stuff but we all had to learn it at some point (great resource for teaching small children)...& a great refresher for adults!! :)Read full review...

The Easter Beagle RULES!

There is something magical about that Charlie Brown and Snoopy too....you'd think the simply drawn characters and sort of odd storyline would not survive into the 2000's but they do. My 2 year old loves the Peanuts, and asks to watch them over Cars and Nemo! I think every family should have the classic Peanuts stories! Plus, the DVDs have a bonus cartoon.Read full review...
