A spoon-fed dry history lesson = DiCaprio was excellent, but film was dull.
This film, while well acted by all the stars, felt more like a spoon-fed dry history lesson that box-office entertainment.
It's not that the scenes weren't interesting to look at, it was all just talk, talk, talk. And not really interesting.
The film was dull as paste. And eating paste might have been more lively.
The film just missed for me. And I couldn't have been more happy when it was finally over.
Leave bio-pics for TV entertainment, mini-series, rather than fictionalizing very dull events.
You can skip it in my book. But if you love DiCaprio.. you've got to see it. Bring a pillow, or a gun in case you want an easy way out.
Cheers and Blessings, Max Rainet.

Good film
Good film but I realized Hoover just didn't admire communists in his country. As for Hoover's personal life it's pretty much shrouded in secret. DiCaprio puts in a decent performance and filmmaker Eastwood just wants to to make up your own mind about J. Edgar Hoover.Read full review...
