Shopping for a VCR
The VCR I selected was clean, free of scuffs and had the remote. In other words, this wasn't a hard used VCR that somebody grabbed from a dusty shelf, minus the remote.
The JVC autorewinds gently, as a late model VCR should. Slow to start, high speed at the middle and a slow speed rewind to the stop.
The picture quality is as good as it gets for VHS, with 4 heads. No complaints there at all.
Very satisfied

can't use timer feature
In trying to program the timing feature, I found the owners manual on the internet. Unless I misread, This unit was manufactured with some odd system of using a code that was published in the tv guide back in the day when we got less than 100 channels.
I may need to do some more research but as it stands I can only use this for playback or immediate recording.Read full review

Great VCR for all those VHS tapes that actually held up really well.
Works smooth and quiet, great picture. Exactly what I needed. Has lots of options I haven’t tried out yet but is surprisingly solid and responsive compared with later models. I’m really enjoying this JVC. Read full review
