Acceptable sound, fragile plug

These are okay but compared to other JVC headphones the plastic is very brittle at the plug. The strain relief split within a matter of days and the exposed wires will soon crack and make them non-functional unless a new plug is installed. That's more labor than the headphones are worth.Read full review...

9.8/10, would buy again.

I am by no means an audiophile. However, I can very easily tell the difference between cheap and quality buds.

And I highly highly recommend these. I first came here looking for some robust earbuds. I didn't care about quality -- I just wanted them to last. And boy are these puppies made to last & deliver quality sound.

Pros:

Very thick cord that holds no "memory" of how it was last stored/bent. This means less tangles.

The buds themselves are very robust and protected.

Cheap. Seriously. I expect a pair like these to be $50-$60

You can feel literally every single bass drum's kick. That's right. You can "feel" it in your ear. This shocked me.

Very very rich bass.

Impressive case. I was expecting something a bit cheap that I would discard. Not with this case, I'll be using it because of it's quality. It looks pretty badass too.

Cancels out 95% of outside sounds. I don't want total cancellation -- that's just unsafe. However, if something is loud (car horn, barking dog) -- you'll hear it. Which is perfect. It also blocks out all nagging, heheheh.

Cons:

They do protrude from your ears a little bid. However, this is something to worry about only if you're insecure about having "big ears" or something. Because it may draw attention (if the red cord didn't already).

Sometimes the bass is too much. I found that with certain EQ settings, I was very faintly hearing the high hats and whatnot. I found that a simple adjustment to the "Acoustic" EQ setting fixes this and allows for you to hear all high's & low's.

So there you have it. The last two cons are either:

A. Things you shouldn't care about.
B. Things that can easily be fixed.

Quality earbuds. Built to last. Incredible sound (I really really dig the ability to "feel" it). And for just $20.

You're a dolt for not buying these.

Good but not Great

This headset has pretty good bass, but the sound is not high quality. For an cheap headset, it will suffice, but if you are looking for quality sound, look elsewhere.

Durable for sure

I'd just picked up a pair of the JVC Xplosives having only used them once or twice since I'd gotten them. While driving away from the gym after my workout, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the left side of my car. I'd never heard the noise before and I hoped it would just go away. After driving about three or four more miles, and still hearing the noise, I decided to pull over and get out in order to investigate. I then discovered that the XPlosives had been dragging along the ground and slapping the side of my car as I'd inadvertently let them dangle from my pocket when shutting the door. They were a quite scratched up but intact...and to my surprise, they sounded as good as ever! It's been 2 weeks and they still sound great!Read full review...

Super sound quality, comfort worse

Clear sound, powerful bass. I really curved shape does not hurt from the ears, but hopefully you get used to. One handset was on the hot Cracks, but it was folded and works. Headphones are thrown left and right channels can not be with them, play computer games, which also depends on the auditory orientation.Read full review...

Fantastic headphones!

I love deep bass when I listen to music. These headphones have some of the best bass I've heard from a pair of headphones while still delivering clean mids and highs.
I've listened to the $100 + Beats by Dre headphones and they don't compare to the sound quality of the JVC's. Save yourself a lot of money and buy these. You will not be disappointed.
I have used the same pair of headphones for almost 2 years and they still sound great. I use them 3 times per week at the gym and the cord is still in good shape. The earbuds will need to be replaced as they lose their "grip" in your ear over time.
I love these headphones so much I have bought a few more pairs to have as backups in the event you can't buy these anymore....they are that good.

Poor sound quality - don't waste your money

Can the sound quality of the HA-FX1X be this bad when compared to the HA-FX3X or is this another counterfeit product? Bought the HA-FX1X by mistake and compared it to the HA-FX3X - which i already owned - and found the difference in sound quality quite appalling! Spend a few dollars more and buy the HA-FX3X instead!!!Read full review...

Absolute Trash

If it wasn't for the fact that it was so cheap I would've demanded a refund. The sound quality is absolutely horrendous. I've heard my neighbours have sex and that's better quality through the thick walls compared to what you get from these absolute garbage earphones.

I literally threw them in the trash about 6 hours ago. That is how much I've enjoyed them.

Awesome & durable earbuds with a good sound quality for very low price !!!

JVC Xtreme Xploxive ha-fx1x are very good IEM's that are not very pricey(very cheap compared to other hi end IEM s) and a good starting point for someone who is beginning to use/test High quality headphones or for someone who is looking for a very durable pair of ear phones with good sound quality.

These IEM's are by far the best built earbuds I have used.the ear pieces are plastic but with very solid build(very very hard plastic !!!!!!!) that can withstand good amount of pressure compared to many other IEM's in the market (These are built to withstand very rough use). The wire is very thick(but not disturbingly thick) and almost never gets tangled. You don't have to worry about breaking the wire from the earpieces or the jack with this IEM's.

The sound quality of these earbuds can be described as very good(but not awesome) and is more inclined to the bass rich side(these IEM's mainly focus on Hi and low end of the frequency and less for the mids).although after good 72-96 hours of breaking-in(with white noise) a somewhat balanced good quality sound can be obtained.
The sound intensity or the loudness of the sound of these earbuds are by far the loudest that I've heard.at 100% volume of my ipod the sound can be herd very clearly ever without wearing them(don't get the wrong impression here this does not mean that when you are listening with them the outside people can also here the song you are listening because for person using these with normal hearing capacity, their ears will start to go numb with pain from the loudness at the point where other people starts to hear the song which you are listening to)

Even though these are not noise isolating earbuds, they provide a very good noise isolation when listening and these will not fall off from your ears very easily(Some people I know even wear them in the gym during their workout without the worry of falling off).

The casing for these earbuds is built with very hard plastic, never gets broken easily and the complete earphone set (with the cable, jack and earpieces) can be stored inside the case without any difficulty.

The only downside of these earbuds is since these are slightly bigger than your average earbuds they tends to jut outward a little when put-on (Listening to music while in bed is a little bit hard with these)

Overall these earphones are the best at the price range and the best ones out there that are built to last and rough use.
with a sound quality that can compete against the big guns.
