Visual equivalent of a beach read
The steelbook packaging that my edition came in was a nice upgrade, but nothing memorable. The movie, the same. The 4K processing didnt have enough to work with to make a difference. In other words, to me, unless you are a fan, the blu ray version on sale in the specials bin at a big box was more than adequate. Bad disk
The movie was great, but there was an annoying line on the middle of my 4K Sony TV. I know its the disk because no other disk has done it. And the only time it appears is with the 4K disk.

A perfectly watchable action film, and while not exactly memorable, still one you likely won't complain about afterwards. Tom Cruise holds up as the unbeatable but far from invincible Jack Reacher, and Cobie Smulders as well as Danika Yarosh both play nicely against him in their differing roles. It lacks the intrigue of the first film, and there are a few dubious jumps of logic, as well as dialog left unexplored, but the plot is easily followed and enjoyed. PQ looks very good especially with 4K HDR effect. AQ also sounds promising with Dolby Atmos. Overall, worth watching if you are feeling an action film and have seen the first Jack Reacher film, but otherwise, go for the first one.Read full review...
