Gold Star for Silver Hallmarks!

As a very new collector of small silver items I knew very little about hallmarks. This is an excellent and handy little guide to pop into your handbag or large pocket. It is well laid out and illustrated and contains all the date marks and assay office marks. As well, it has the more commonly found makers marks - these are a field of research in themselves. I will now be able to buy more confidently when attending antiques fairs etc. It is a well-bound paperback at an excellent price produced by people who know their field. While there is a larger hard-backed edition of this book this contains all the hallmark information of the larger edition. Whilst there are many other books on the subject, for my money this is all the enthusiastic amateur requires to start with.Read full review...
