The best under-the-bridge pickup needs no batteries!

As a professional luthier/guitar technician, I have installed several of these amazing transducers, and am continually astounded by their performance, which has a natural warmth and tonal range heretofore unheard in this type of unit. I highly recommend this pickup for ALL acoustic guitars which can accommodate one. It isn't the easiest to install, and will most likely require the help of a tech like myself; but the results are BEYOND EXCELLENT; take my word for it. Additionally, this passive pickup does not require a battery-powered on-board preamp, though it works with outside preamps, EQs and direct boxes equally well (it doesn't need them for sufficient volume). This basic model does not include a volume control, but K&K Audio makes a model which uses one, as well as preamp-equipped versions. Thank you, K&K--ROCK ON!Read full review...

great simple pickup!!

It's a fairly simple yet great pickup, in that you don't need to do much drilling into the guitar and fear any loss of acoustic. I installed it onto my Johnson Trailblazer Deluxe which is a fairly simple and cheap but great sounding guitar, and was very pleased with the results. The interior design of this particular guitar actually doesn't allow the pickup to be placed right under the nut where it should be due to there not being enough space for it. Even so, installing the pickup as close to the nut as possible, I was still able to get a very clear natural perfectly balanced bright-ish sound out of it. Would recommend any day of the week 10/10Read full review...

Amazing

Once I reamed the 1/2" hole for the jack, the DIY installation was easy with the alignment jig provided. Made in Oregon, USA. There's not much to it. I'm guessing K&K has almost as much into packaging as the pickup. Sounds great plugged directly into my acoustic amp. I like the simplicity and no battery. At just over a hundred bucks, I see why this pickup is so popular. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.Read full review...

Very pleased with the results. 5 stars for K&K pure mini.

Be aware and be careful when installing the pickups. It is easy to get them to close to the bridge pins.My 6th string head or ball just barely clears the base side pickup. I think I was lucky. The sound of this K&K pickup is excellent. Very balanced and clear.I would give the finger picking or single note flat picking sound 5 stars. Struming sound 4 1/2 stars. Just a nice accurate sound. Works well with the line setting on my QSC K8.2 speaker. It also works very well with the instrument setting. There is just more volume on the instrument setting. Also works great with my Samson small analog mixer. I installed the pickup myself and am very pleased with the results. The recipient guitar was my 1974 Martin D28. Thanks K&K.Read full review...

Amazing sound from a passive pickup!

While it's not super easy to install (my hand barely fits through the sound hole), the results are better than I'd hoped for. Very hot signal for a passive pickup! My only complaint is the sound gets randomly muffled / deadened when palm muting.Read full review...

This thing really works!

I installed the Pure mini on a Taylor Big Baby, and this thing really works! It sounds so good, it made me smile. Installation was easy for me with really good step by step directions that came with the mini pickup. Plus I watched a you tube video of the complete installation, and after watching, I knew I could do it myself. I recommend this if your thinking about a pickup for your acoustic guitar, it works.Read full review...

Natural sounding pickup

This is the second K&K I've installed on my guitars. They are fairly easy ti install if you are reasonably handy and follow the instructions. I don't mind that there is no volume control because I play through Bose T1 mixer and set the volume there. I use a 1/2" tapered reamer by hand to make enlarge the strap pin hole so that one can install the 1/4" pickup jack

In my opinion the pickup replicates the natural sound of my guitar very well.

K&K Pure Mini Pick-up

I bought this pick-up system and after receiving it within just a few days, installed it into my 1978 Takemine SH 370 acoustic guitar. This pick-up system is every bit as great as they claim it is, and no trouble to install with the enclosed installation kit provided with it. I am slow and installed it within one hour without problems. Highly satisfied with the resulting sound from my guitar. In a small setting or show, it worked great without using a "feedback buster" in the sound hole. If used in a "hot" stage environment, feedback protection would probably be needed just as with other acoustics in such situations.Read full review...

Pure Sound, pure tone

easy to install. Has full, natural tone. Even though it's passive, it has plenty of clean volume w/o a preamp. I run mine through a Fishman LoudBox, & it has gotten many complements.

I plan to purchase another model for my 6-string banjo.

Best bang for a minimum amount of bucks.
