Best acoustic guitar passive pickup value!

I have several acoustic guitars with a variety of pickups installed in them. This pickup surpasses other models on the market. It is easily installed, works as it should and has excellent tonal capabilities. I would recommend this to anyone who asked me about what I had in my guitar. Great value for what you can do with this pickup!Read full review...

What's Not to Like

K&K Pure Mini is by far the best value acoustic guitar pickup on the market. You can go with their upgrade version which included an internal mic and volume control but feedback with a loud band can become an issue with minimal gain in sound quality.

I love the install it and forget it nature of this pickup and really superb natural sound.
I've had it installed on a Collings CJ, regrettably sold, a Collings OH2 12 string, a custom jumbo, and a custom Fairbanks Southern Jumbo 13 fret. Sounds fantastic on all of them.

Never had a proper acoustic pickup until now. This is wonderful!

My poor ol' 1973 Conn guitar has been hacked up and repaired to death, but this pickup gives her a new life through my new 50w amp! After tweaking the equalizer and tone controls, it sounds great. I installed two sensors near the high strings and the third one between the low E and A. It is my guess that this helped me avoid my problem with midrange "quack". Very pleased.Read full review...

Acoustic amplification at it's best

The K&K system is second to none in uncolored reproduction of an acoustic string instrument. Though a bit tricky to install (very thorough instructions are provided and if followed results in a relatively painless experience), this system is a bargain if you are looking for true reproduction of your instrument's sound without the usual feedback problems! A ton of usable gain eliminates the need for a pre amp in most applications.
Professional installation is recommended however, if you don't have at least some basic technical skills and a few tools (most notably a drill)!

Excellent pickup ......

A remarkable sounding pickup! The installation instructions manual is first rate. The plastic template and pin locating system works really well if you are handy, careful and proceed as directed. So glad I bought this for my little Eastman E10ooss !!!Read full review...

Just a stunning translation of my guitars acoustic tone - THANKS K&K

Simply incredible sound and reasonable to install. The output is pretty strong and it works with acoustic preamps so it is flexible enough to count on and seeing as there is no active component, you don't have batteries to worry about.

- The tone is very much like the unamplified sound of the instrument and this may actually throw you off for a while as it is hard to tell if the sound is coming directly from the guitar or the PA
- String to string balance is very good and the tone is warm across the spectrum as opposed to sterile, thin or brittle
- Dynamics are very good and the sound stays cohesive across the dynamic range so that loud and soft notes all speak clearly
- Installation is a little anxious until you get the first transducer placed and then it feels comfortable, use a web cam or your phone inside the guitar body linked to a spare monitor to watch the process in real time

Martin D-35 is happy!

Normally, a pickup review is mostly about the shortcomings of the amplified sound and what you’ve done to make it work. There is a weird thing happening with this particular pickup in this particular Guitar, in that it sounds exactly like the guitar sounds with no eq on the board, going straight into the PA with no preamp, no DI, no nothing. I have a Gibson LG-0 with a Baggs M1 in it that is great for that guitar, but for the Martin, the K&K is killer. I got it installed at Ann Arbor Guitar by David Collins who is the best in the business so that might be a factor. Long story short, it’s a great pickup. Five stars!Read full review...

Sounds good and easy to install

I was a little worried about installing it, but it was actually pretty easy. I found a step drill bit to make the cut easily at the end pin hole, and between the directions that come with the pickup and YouTube videos on how to, it was a piece of cake. Plus the pickup sounds pretty good too (which is the main reason you'd want it!Read full review...

Good sound at a good price

Its one of the sweeter, more natural sounding pickups around. Simple and fairly easy to install as long as your patient and carefull. Anything that sounds as good or any better cost hundreds more and your guitar will be filled with a bunch of wires and a battery...doesnt weight it down either. Good smaller venue sound...Read full review...
