A great addition for any cinephiles’ library, and nifty entrance exposure to some very singular presences in the worlds of Music and Art
Always been a fan of ‘core’ Russell titles (1962-1978) and to be able to see these oh-so-creative surveys OF the Creative…wonderful. I love the juxtaposition of facts and raffish irreverence. As always, his use of music is standout as well. He truly joins his models as seeker and seer at his peak.Read full review...

Masterpieces From The BBC
All of the films, included in this set of three DVDs, are compelling film making. All bring new information about their subjects and an intimacy to these individual artists. If one has any interest in the individual artists, then these films will bring a new understanding of their human condition. I particularly enjoyed the film of Delius but all the others on a as high a plane as this film. The fact that all of these films are in Black and White will not deter from the high quality of film making. The artist included are Calude Debussy, Henri Rosseau,Isadora Duncan and Frederick Delius among others. Each film is about an hour in length.Read full review...
These early Ken Russell films displayed a great talent on the rise.
Not only the auspicious beginnings of a talented director, these films also display what a gifted actor Oliver Reed was becoming. Reed did some of his best work for Ken Russell later on. What these films lacked in budget, they made up for in talent. An earmark of great filmmaking.Read full review...

Higly recommend this DVD for Ken Russell fans
Ken Russell, the famous British director, made many firsts while in the film industry.
In 'The Devils' a much controversial film, he was introduced the first nude male frontal scene with Oliver Reed and Alan Bates wrestling before a fireplace.
This DVD set chronicles all of his films and gives an excellent account of his daringness in the film industry.Read full review...
