The less action packed back story

I love this movie, for the record. I rarely buy myself movies, but I have bought this one twice (once, my fiance left it at work, where it lives now. I needed it back). Volume one was more of a fast paced, violent, exciting ride, about which one wasn't fully sure what was going on, but it looked cool. Volume two on the other hand has some great sequences, but takes more time to explain the back story. There is a lot of story telling, but if you liked Volume one, you should see what happened to get the Bride where she is...and where she will end up.Read full review...

Finally a sequel that is as good as the first.

This story picks up where the first left off and fills in the holes with incredible aciton and fantastic story telling. Do yourself a favor and get them both, then watch consecutively.

The direction of this movie is spot on as was the first. Sure the action sequences are bloody, but they are incredible. Though bloody, the scenes are truly akin to a comic book as was the intention. You won't be discgusted by them, you will be enthralled.

Throughout the movie you will be be anticipating what might happen next and what had happened previously. Since it is shot by Tarrentino, it has his style of story telling. The scenery and imagination of this is fantastic and visually stimulating. Each part of the story drives you deeper into a story of pain and agony and vengeance.

If you like Pulp Fiction or Sin City, you will love this as it is nestled between the two.

A KNOCKOUT FLICK! ACTION PACK! MUST HAVE FOR MOVIE FANS

This is considered to be one the best movie directed by Mr Quentin Tarantino as well as best performance by Uma Thurman in a starting role. I would say the originality of the movie along with the screenplay is breathtaking enough. A must have for anyone that a portable DVD player or laptop w. DVD player because When your on the go on a subway, airplane or long road trip this is a great film to watch.

I highly recommend this movie, because this movie has been reviewed by many critics and they all agree it is a "A" quality movie.

Every time you see the movie again, you will see it from a new light or angle. You can never see it too many times, because each time you get a more "aesthetic" appreciation for the movie, unlike other movies where you see it once and toss it to your collection, this one you can watch it several times a year and see new meaning.

This is also a must have for anyone who is in the movie business, whether you are an aspiring actor/director writer, you can learn new things each time you watch it.

Overall the movie is an A+

good directing, script, and acting and the lines are very original along with some of the costumes and techniques by the director. Good camera angles and sharp movement. Great music as well. Be sure to get your copy today.

Worth Waiting for Bill

The 2nd half of the Tarantino's latest masterpiece neatly tidies up the loose ends left from his initial installment. For those whose threshold for the gruesome, vivid graphic portrayal of violent conflict is weak, calm down. This offering displays a more tamed-down presentation with noticeably-lacking spurting blood baths. What we get is more what we experienced in Pulp Fiction, the human side of the killer mind, almost an analytical treatise of the violent nature of killing. Here Tarantino shines like no other, distilling the drives and emotions of socially deviant psyche into everyday terms albeit extremely coarse, pithy and, above-all, to the point... another QT forte'. The significant mood change from scenes of massacre to those of well-planned, detailed storytelling almost leaves one yearning for the choreographic excellence of the camerawork in the first episode. Make no mistake. There is no fortuitous expression of violence displayed in this film. The action itself is designed specifically to reveal cinematic innovation and plot details rather than an attempt to evoke a carnal reaction from the viewer. To appreciate QT's screenplay you must step back, ponder, consume, then proceed (at your own risk, of course). Rewind as needed.

The casting is perfect, some stars like Gordon Liu & Michael Parker are recast with new, electrifying character portrayals. Tarantino's ability to place personages of highly competent actors/actresses in just the right situation makes you wonder if he ever sleeps at all. His integration of soundtrack/screenplay keeps developing as his filmography broadens. Just when you think he's mastered the craft, there's innovation that you've never seen before. This is a "top-shelf" film (Vol 1 & 2, together).

Buy or rent Kill Bill if you enjoy having your perceptions tested on the razor's edge. (Caution: IMO, not suitable for those under 16 or so.)

One of Tarantino's best films!

Those who like Quentin Tarantino's unique, quasi-pop, ultra-violent style of film-making will likely love both Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2. Both are two of his finest works (granted he only made 5), and rank right up there with Pulp Fiction -- his definitive masterpiece. Vol 2 is the perfect complement to Vol 1, and a must-have for anyone who enjoyed the first and needs a little closure. For those who were turned off by Vol 1's gratuitous violence, Vol 2 offers a gentler, more meditative conclusion to the story, with only one truly violent scene involving The Bride's showdown with Elle Driver. Vol 2 has an almost poetic quality to it, as it illuminates The Bride's (Uma Thurman) unique relationship with her mentor, Bill, whom she has sworn to kill by any means. Their story is surprisingly touchingly sad, even though their final showdown seems a bit too brief and anti-climactic. Though the movie lacks some of the operatic, over-the-top style of Vol 1, it more than makes up for it with more richly drawn characters and a truly touching love story. It also has some excellent humor, as only Tarantino can deliver it. Highly recommended.Read full review...

Kill Bill Vol. 2 (DVD)

This film features a great follow up and possibility of trilogy to the first of Quentin The Great's epic Kill Bill story... What I dislike about it is that it has led me to purchase a great deal of lower end samurai weapons. It has also left me with the fear that I will and can be brutally removed from the peaceful town I live in by police officers and government officials whom do not NOR WILL EVER NOT respect cheap samurai weapon totin' hippies who will not let go of the tree they so desperately hug for dear life, because we all know what happens in prison, and I ain't gonna let it happen ever.
So do not buy this film or rent it if you have extra money at the time, because you WILL become an ultimate samurai fighter, gifted and thankful of your new and powerful position in life.

This sequal is not what I expected

Together, the films are excellent. I did not like these villians. They where the scum of the earth and I did not care about them at all. The charecters where just not good. Even, Bill did not amaze me. There relationship was just gross. The first two villains in this film would need a map to find the main charecter. Bill must have held there hand while they were on missions. I would not be suprised if he painted the target for them.

The women was too needy and a spoiled brat, too. The man seemed to be dumb but trying to hide that fact. The main charecter seems to know how to find every one of the villains. Maybe, there is yellow pages for super or dumb villians.

Watch both film together or just skip this one.

Kill Bill Vol 2 is a Kickin' Ride - Beats Kill Bill 1!

I'll start by saying that I'm in the minority - I didn't love Kill Bill Vol 1 because, despite the great action and gore, there wasn't much substance which, consequently, made the action meaningless and moot. With Kill Bill 2 though, Quentin Tarantino brilliantly ties together the action from the first film with a fine balance of plot, dialouge, history and of course bloods and gore. The action scenes are as kick butt as the Kill Bill Vol. 1 - but in Vol 2 they are more meaningful. This movie is incredibly fun and can be enjoyed with or without prior watching of the first Kill Bill. Other nice additions - the video quality and sound are fantastic. The music is moving and strong (ie Johnny Cash) and there are plenty of extras. Enjoy!!

Cast: Bo Svenson, Christopher Nelson, Daryl Hannah, David Carradine, Gordon Liu, Larry Bishop, Michael Madsen, Michael Parks, Perla Haney-Jardine, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman
