LG VX9600 (Versa)

I love that I can either bring the QWERTY keypad with me, or leave it at home. It makes a big difference when I am only bringing a couple of things with me, instead of my entire purse. The touch screen is sensitive, which is great; I don't have to punch on the screen a million times to get it to respond. I have a stylus as well, but I don't use it all the time; it really isn't necessary unless you have larger fingers. I would have to say my favorite part is that I can actually write a word and it translates it to text for me. It's mostly just for fun, as it would be hard to write an entire message in less time than it would take to just use the keypad or touch screen.Read full review...

Nice phone IF your hands/fingers are not too big.

I bought it used for about $15, so it was a good deal. It has the features I want in a phone, and it is my first touch screen. I rate it low on ease of use because my fat fingers make the touch screen hard to use. Even after I increased the icon size, I still mess up my pin when getting my VM's. It is a little small for my big hands, and that also makes operating it kind of sketchy. If I had small hands/fingers, I would have rated this phone high in all categries.....Read full review...

I prefer the keypad for text, much faster, but this one makes the phone awkward to use so I removed it. Is nice that I had the option to remove keypad and it removes very easily. Really need to use my fingernail to text, as my fingers are too large and keep making errors. The stylis is a plus and it hangs from the phone. Phone works well and no repairs yet. Wish it had better internet, a little slow, and small, wish it would pop up the pictures etc from email, rather than just the text. Over all it is a nice phone.Read full review...

PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!

PLEASEEEE READ!!!!!! this phone is okay....
I've had this phone for a little while now, and its not a very well-made phone.

The QWERTY attachment keyboard is fine, except for the fact that it makes your phone so much more bigger, so it sticks 10 feet out of your pocket! its embarrassing and looks like you're carrying a brick around in your pants. and it stops working! half of my buttons on my QWERTY attachment stopped working. it stinks, and defeats the whole purpose in having one!

The touch phone keyboard stinks aswell!! i can't even use the virtual keyboard on my phone. if you press one button it either doesn't press, or presses the wrong key. so i have to use the other virtual one. i hate it with a passion! im so sick of this phone. the top of mine is coming off, which makes my screen mess up, and i constantly get stabbed because the screen is pointy and sharp and hurts!

The camera on this phone IS TERRIBLE! i cannot stress enough how crappy it is. when you take pictures, it has lines through it! or it turns out blurry, and you have to wait forever for the picture to take.

I know that this phone isn't a smart phone, or a professional camera, but i expected a little more than what this phone turned out to be.
now for the pros.

this phone is a good quality phone, it's hard to find a phone that reaches the standards of it. It is pretty durable, especially the touch screen. because i do tend to drop my phone A LOT, and since the touch screen isn't glass, it is very durable. the memory of this phone is AWESOME! it can hold around 800 pictures in the phone alone, without the use of a memory card. you can lock it while you send texts, so butt dialing rarely happens. The battery life is OK, but it could last longer. but, the battery drains really fast if you switch from the attachable keyboard to the regular back.

So, I know that this phone isn't the iPhone, or a smartphone, but i dont even use the internet anyways so i don't care about apps, or if this phone can even use it. the little time i had internet it was pretty alright. the camera STINKS, and the screen messes up and the attachable keyboard messes up. Don't get this phone if you expect a lot out of it, because if you're tied in for a while it blows. rethink about getting this phone.

Great phone that's fun to use!!

It's a great phone, with the exception of the battery life. I'm not sure if mine seems less than ample because I bought it used, or because that's just the way it is, but I would prefer a longer life. Other than that, it has been a great phone! Easy to navigate, very versatile!!! (Hence, the name "versa" :-) The touch screen has a little bit of a delay, but no more than other touch phones similar to this model. It's perfect for people, like me, who want a good texting phone that's a little more modern, but don't need a smartphone yet! I would definitely recommend it!!Read full review...

Great basic feature touchscreen phone.

This is a good basic phone. The size is mostly what I was looking for, about the size of my old BB Pearl, but all touchscreen. I have a smartphone from work, so I needed a full touchscreen that didn't require a data plan. This phone fits the bill perfectly. Sometimes the keys are a little hard to use, but I'm pleased with the phone. Battery life seems to be good.Read full review...

LG VX9600 Versa

The design is chic, attractive, and easy to-follow. I had a phone like this one before and it lasted awhile. The touch screen is somewhat durable; it's survived a few falls and it doesn't scratch very easily. Although somewhat difficult to text on due to the touch screen, an attachable keyboard is offered for easier use. The lock screen and main menu pages are customizable, as are many other things on the phone, such as the font, font size, and menu format. I love how you can set up the shortcuts and applications on this phone so that you can access them quickly.
The phone has a 2.0M camera with a flash. Although the overall quailty of pictures and videos is good, the photos are sometimes blurry. The calls on this phone come in clearly, and I've only lost one a call on my LG versa. If you desire, you can add a contact or write a text message while you're talking on the phone. Also, a drawing pad, EZtip calculator, regular calculator, calendar, alarm clock, stopwatch, and notepad are among the many apps that come for free with this phone.
I would recommend this phone to experienced users who are comfortable with touch screen phones. Customers seeking a phone that they can personalize will also be suited with the Versa

LG VX9600 Versa (Verizon Wireless)

I switched from a Voyager Titanium, which I had for two years and absolutely loved, to the Versa on my upgrade. Initially, when I got my Voyager, it was between that and the Dare. I was leary about full touch and no physical QWERTY. The Dare was also shotty in the OS department. This phone is a ten-fold upgrade from the Dare. Granted the camera is less MP versus the Dare, but everything else is better. No quirks on this phone, the operating system is smooth. Many people dislike the fact that you can't change the look of the User Interface, but I say "big deal". This is a physically gorgeous phone with superb interface that runs perfectly. The call quality is exceptional and it pulls service well, even in areas on the fringe of service (I travel to them often). I was amazed how easily I can text on the virtual QWERTY, even with my thick mits. The battery life is solid, but if you don't charge your phone once every two or three days, you have issues anyway. Browser is solid, no great Flash support, though. You can do Youtube well, but Hulu isn't happening. V-Cast videos look stunning, everything from classic Star Trek to Dora the Explorer played well and was crisp and clear. Loaded a bunch of music onto an 8GB card, the music player is cool, but speaker is mono (hence the singular "speaker"), still plays loud and clear. Runs VZ Navigator solid and was fluid with real-time. Looked at getting the keyboard or maybe the gamepad attachments, but I wasn't overly impressed with those. Overall, though, I've been a huge fan of LG, as I switched from Nokia (grudgingly) a few years ago. Never looked back. This phone is excellent! Want a beautiful touch screen phone with no mandatory data? Get on this, before they disappear, as it is a discontinued model. Believe me, it runs much smoother than the highly touted Chocolate Touch.Read full review...

LG Versa VX9600

I have had this phone for 3 days so far and it is far superior to any phone I have owned previously. Even though I don't have a data package, this phone's sound quality, mp3 player, text capability, and verizon signal strength(compared to my old phone which was also verizon) is outstanding. The touch is way better than other touch phones I have used. It is accurate and not "too touchy" or "not touchy enough". LG hit the nail on the head on this one! Not really sure why they have newer touch phones that do not work as well as this older version. For example, the newer LG Cosmos Touch. I do not have the querty keyboard on this phone, but am getting it with the new Versa I just purchased for my wife. I will let you know!Read full review...

LG Versa VX9600

This phone is awesome!!!! It's not just a phone, it's like a mini computer. Crystal clear reception. Takes great photos and video. Lots of internal memory for storing photos, video, contacts, whatever you want. The screen is much bigger that I thought. Not a bit of trouble seeing it when using the VZ Navigator or any other app. That was a major problem with my old LG Decoy. The keybord makes a great addition and comes in very handy. I've got big fingers and texting with the touch screen was a major problem until I started using the keyboard. Now its a breeze. Great phone! I love it!Read full review...
