Incredible collection! Every song is radio ready!

There are very few albums that can be called a work of art. Most albums contain 8 filler songs to surround the 2 radio hits that make up the CD. This is not the case with true talents like Shakira. This was her first effort in crafting music in English. With the help of some seasoned artists like Gloria Estefan, who can go wrong? This collection features multiple world-wide hits like "Whenever Wherever / Suerte", "Objection (Tango) / Te Aviso", "Underneath Your Clothes", "The One". The entire CD contains quality tracks such as "Fool" and "Te Dejo Madrid". So rare when you can play a CD all the way through without skipping tracks. This is one of those very rare collections of pure pop perfection! However, if you can't understand her Spanish tracks on this CD, I won't fault you for skipping tracks. She's "The One"

Shakira's first English album is amazing. Truly something you can really get into - featuring lots of different beats, some songs that make you want to get up and dance and some that are mellow and thoughtful. Shakira's unique voice and style provides dimension to the album, making it unlike any other artist out there.

Shakira's no one-hit-wonder, either! Quite a few of the songs on this album have made it onto radio and billboard charts, a few of which even had their own music videos featured on MTV and the like. "Objection (Tango)," "Underneath Your Clothes," "Whenever, Wherever," and "The One" were all on the radio at one point. The album also includes four tracks in Spanish, two of which are original and two of which are the Spanish versions of album tracks in English ("Te Aviso, Te Anuncio (Tango)" and "Suerte").

If you enjoy pop music and strong female artists, and can appreciate the Latin influence and ecclectic style that Shakira brings, I would highly recommend this album. It was in my car's CD player for at least a month straight and I still regard it as one of my favorites!Read full review...

TBTR of Laundry Service by Shakira!

1. Objection (Tango) - With an accordion in the intro, the track quickly turns into a face-paced dance track that is truly one of the highlights of the album. "Objection, I don't wanna be the exception..." 4/5
2. Underneath Your Clothes - Shakira really changes it up with this slow track, whose title is a bit deceiving. It is not really sexual in nature at all, but really sweet about her lover. "You're a song, written by the hands of God..." 4/5
3. Whenever, Wherever - One of the most signature songs of Shakira's career (third only to "Hips don't lie" and "She Wolf"), this fast-paced song is one of the highlights of the album. I do believe that it has a didgeridoo in it...amazing!!! "I'll be there, and You'll be near, and that's the deal my dear..." 5/5
4. Rules - A rock tinged track, I have to say that this is one of the tracks that I don't have committed to memory...particular because the chorus is the only memorable part. A solid track, but not really good or bad. "Oh can't you see, you always were, you'll always be..." 4/5
5. The One - A slower track that eventually turns into something more exciting...meh!! This track just is filler to me...but the thing with Shakira is that even with filler...it's GREAT!!! "You're the one I need..." 3/5
6. Ready for the Good Times - A face paced song that just makes you wanna dance!! "I'm ready for the good times..." 3/5
7. Fool - With help from Alanis Morissette (which is most evident in the chorus), Shakira makes this track simply AMAZING!! I actually thought that it was Alanis Morisette in the chorus!! One of my favorite songs on the album!! "I can't help it that I'm just a fool..." 5/5
8. Te Dejo Madrid - Okay...so I understand and can speak Spanish somewhat, and can understand about 1/4 of the lyrics, but it is still amazing!!! Even if you don't know Spanish, you WILL enjoy this track. "Ay me boy otra vez ahi te dejo Madrid..." 4.5/5
9. Poem to a Horse - The title may warn that this is a skip track..BUT DONT YOU DARE!!! This is a GREAT track!! "I leave again, cause I've been waiting in bed.." 4/5
10. Que Me Quedes Tu - Skip Skip Skip Skip Skip Filler Filler Filler Filler!!! I despise this track!!! You don't need to include it on this album, Shakira!!! 2/5
11. Eyes Like Yours (Ojos Asi) - A translation of her greatest hit at the time of this album's publication, this song is just in good in english as in spanish! Another track that just makes you wanna DANCEEE!!!!!! "Oh you know I have seen a sky without a sun.." 5/5
12. Suerte - The Spanish version of Whenever, Wherever, I actually think it sounds better in Spanish1!!
13. Objecion - The spanish version of Objection (Tango), I think that the latter in english sounds better.

Overall verdict,

Broken case

The CD itself is brand new! However, it arrived half way ripped sealed and a broken case! Unacceptable for a collector like myself! I will keep it but just be aware from my experience!
