A Life Long Fan of the leisure Suit Larry Series.

I am no stranger to Point & Click adventure games and to leisure Suit Larry in particular. I have been playing adventure games for almost 16 years now. Magna C** Laude is the only leisure Suit Larry that Al Lowe (The original developer) did not participate in its development. Also our friend Larry is no longer the main character of the game but his loser cousin Larry Lovage. Unlike the previous Larry games like the fabulous 'Love For sail'; the game doesn't really focus on puzzle and problem solving that avid adventure fans seek, but it will deliver quick surges of laugher and excitement. Add to that the thrill of chasing and scoring with perfectly developed 3D chicks.

If you are after fun coupled with an Uncut and Uncensored gaming. Then this game is definitely for you. But if you are after puzzle solving then stir away.

The Leisure Suit Larry franchise has jumped the shark

Graphics: Average 5/10
Sound: Mediocre – 5/10
Gameplay: Bad – 2/10
Replay Value – Non-existent 1/10
Overall – Really Bad 3.25/10

Please note: The Leisure Suit Larry Series has been a favorite of mine since the Commodore 64. If it was yours, please read before buying.

Graphics: Average 5/10
The graphics are cartoon like and sharp. The colors are vivid and portrays the over the top model that this game is. The character models, however, lack desirability. The people in this game look like if you took characters from Area 51 and blended them with Jessica Rabbit you would get these deformed models. The frame rate is awful, even with installing it in the hard drive, which makes it difficult to concentrate.

Sound: Average – 5/10
The sounds and voice work should have made this game a 7-8 score in sound, but the poor recording of the voices, the dialogue, and the lame, repetitive music make this area weak. With such voice talents as Tom Arnold, Arty Lang, Jay Moor, Carmen Electra, etc., you had a winning combination for some great voice work. However, the poor script, delivery, and recording really inhibit this.

The music is poor and cheesy, but for a Leisure Suit Larry game, it flows. However, it made me turn it off and play a music track instead.

Gameplay: Spectacular – 2/10
Woof. This is bad. I really tried to play this game, but the repetitive missions, poor controls, and camera pans (that cause you to die I might add), are awful. When you play a game that is all escort based (drive here, drive there), and collect a set amount of lost items, you don’t expect to die because of the camera angle changing on you. There will be points in this game where you are doing nothing, but when the camera shifts, it shifts your controls causing you to fall and die.

The story is poor, and even with the filth and naughty dialogue, does not make up for the poor delivery and innuendos. You will find yourself skipping the cut scenes because it is the same old jokes.

Replay Value – Non-existent 1/10
Without multiplayer, this game has no replay value. Sure you can go achievement hunting for the statues, or try to beat the game in under 8 hours, but why would you want to? It may be more fun to punch yourself in the face.

Overall – Really Bad 3.25/10
This would normally be a game I would buy on release, and especially at the $20 MSRP, but I rented it instead, and then I thanked myself repeatedly. It is so bad that it makes the legacy of Leisure Suit Larry stained with disgrace. Others will want to watch you play and hope that you don’t make future bad choices.

The game is not good, not even close. The story stutters, and fails about two hours into the game. It is so bad that I longed to play Magna Cum Laude again. At least in that game it had engrossing mini-games and more interesting characters and graphics (and that was released 5 years ago).

Only buy this if you have an urge to complete every Leisure Suit Larry game, and are a glutton for punishment. When this game came on my radar last year, I was excited to continue the hijinx that was established in LSL: Magna Cum Laude, but instead was left mad and wanting my time back.

Fun game to just pick up and play.

This is probaboy the funniest game I've ever played.I mean how many games are like this, your goal is to charm a girl and beat her in some mini games to get her to go back to your place and and get lucky, lol. Just like my teenage life.
I loved it, it's really addictive. I played it on the ps2 when it fist came out and unlocked everything just to try to get all the girls naked, but you get a censored bar on the bottoms, only boobs unfortunately. But on the adult rated cumputer version you get to go all the way, or so I'm told, havn't got that far yet. I highly recomend it if you want something fun and a little sexy.

Not bad but not great..

It's longer than I thought (13 girls!) and it's nice seeing the Larry world in a First Person View. It's a bit repetitive and a total switch from finding items to win over the girl to getting the right key sequence of left right up down and enter....but as a LSL fan, I was cool with it.

I don't like this whole uncensored VS censored game version confusion. I know there's some patch out but I haven't tried it. The controls are sometimes more clumsy than they should be. That's just my thoughts and I've only gone through about half the game.

Leisure Suit Larry: Magna C** Laude

A fun game with quite a few unexpected turns, as you attempt to guide Larry about a college campus looking for love. Game starts off with a "G" rating, then as one advances, goes to a very strong "R" rating the furnter along you get. Requires a fair amount of hand eye cordination as you work on attempting to pass various challenges presented in game.
Haven't finished the game yet, as still working on it.

Dont Judge A Game By Its Cover

I heard the previous Larry games were a smash and I figured this new one could only be much better, considering it is in 3d, but I was wrong. At first the game shows promise. Larry Starts off in his dorm and can walk around the hall an visit all sorts of college characters. Most of the mini games, which is how you progress through the game, are the same boring games. Its kind of funny, but overall it gets boring very fast.Read full review...
