Logitech Harmony 880 Remote

This is a good universal remote to get as your first programmable remote. You need a computer and the supplied cable to allow your remote to communicate with the Logitech web site. You should also have a list of each component you want to control along with the model number and make before you start programming the remote. On mine I have two menus; one that allows you to choose which device's remote you wish to mimic and one that allows you to program a series of steps for the remote to perform that controls several devices at once. For example if I want to watch TV using my; TV, Receiver, and Cable box. The remote turns them all at once and will also shut them all off at the same time, when I'm done for the evening. Great for my wife who doesn't want to use all the individual remotes.
Cons: there is no back lighting so seeing buttons in the dark is difficult. Also the screen and side buttons are small so I need my close up glasses to operate the remote. Finally the charging cradle does not always make contact with the charging pins on the remote so you need to pay attention to ensure your remote is charging properly.

All in all it's an inexpensive, easy to program remote that's an inexpensive way to get into a universal remote.Read full review

An excellent product....even after 10+ years on the market

I have three Harmony 880s dotted around the house. Bought the first one way back in 2005, added a second one a few years later and was looking to add a third....hello eBay! I'm always impressed that Logitech continue adding components to the long list the 880 already supports. Each time I replace a component in our AV complement at home I'm always apprehensive that the 880 won't support it. So far, have not been disappointed, last component replaced, a MY 2016 Yamaha AV Receiver and a MY 2015 Sony TV. All work with the 880. Excellent job Logitech.

This was purchased as a replacement for one that had inoperative buttons due to sticky fingered children. Unit is easy to program: just transferred settings from old unit. Great Remote!

I bought this remote for my son, who is disabled and has challenges using things with his hands. He had this remote years ago and when it broke, he chose a newer Logitech model. But none so far has served him well like the 880. The buttons are much easier for him to push and he likes how it is shaped. When I found one on eBay, he was excited. Get a Harmony Remote While You Can

It appears that Logitech may not be making device profiles available anymore. Luckily, I had a saved profile set from my Harmony 720 that loaded on to the 880 without trouble.
