A fine portable webcam

I had a hard time finding more recent reviews for this thing (in 2019), so here we go. I got it because I wanted a more portable webcam for travel, and it definitely satisfies that requirement. It also has a short cord, which is good for use with a laptop (for me, an old Thinkpad x200). I had no problems with the clip, although I found that the stand might be more necessary than I thought, because when I clip it to my laptop, my face takes up most of the image. I can go without the stand while traveling, but I wouldn't at home.

The image quality is just fine. It probably accomplishes this by keeping the resolution down. I haven't had a chance to test out the microphone, and I'll probably update the review once I can test out the microphone.

For the record, I tested this out with a pretty much bare Linux computer, and it worked fine, so I wouldn't worry about compatibility issues. The only thing is I couldn't get it to recognize the microphone, possibly because there's a built-in microphone in my laptop (which I was also aiming to replace with this thing because mine has a high-pitched whine), but I can tell that'll just require some fiddling around to get it to work.Read full review...

Awesome Web Cam!

This Web Cam captures a vivid picture and the microphone is top notch. Comes with a stand and can be attached to a laptop too. It also has a padded carrying case. Auto focuses for movement and different lighting conditions and the microphone also auto adjusts based on sound input. Uses an USB cable for input to a laptop or PC. Come with it's own software to adjust the webcam and additional software that can basically do what Skype does. I chose not to install the latter and had no problem using the webcam with Skype. I would highly recommend this webcam to anyone who is considering using Skype. Solid web cam once you find the correct software.

The disc that came with the product did not have Windows 10 drivers. Logitech's web site is difficult to navigate. I eventually located the correct product software using Google, and it installed easily.

Configuration with the OEM software is limited, but skin tone and color settings are nice. Image quality is solid at 720 P, and I use a discreet microphone. It works well with Zoom and Facebook video on a 100/10 Mbps cable connection.Read full review...

A lot of performance, in a little package!

Having ooVoo'ed a number of times with family members without a webcam, I was more or less expecting to see the errant color and touch and go sound quality as represented by their cams; after I had installed my new Logitech webcam C905.... I discovered, I couldn' have been more mistaken!
To begin with the initial installation required an extra driver, which was no surprise, since my laptop hasn't been updated in months!. Thereafter, the remainder of the install was very easy and very quick (be sure to follow the prompts for sequencing the USB plug-in)! But the real surprise came after I had a conference call with my Brother-in-law!! The clarity of the picture and sound was truly stunning! Colors are vivid and almost exact hue representation. The size of the cam makes it easy to pack and move around with laptop. I haven't begun to explore all the creative capabilities, but based on what I've seen thus far, it's a lot of high quality performance in a very small package!Read full review...

Love the size and features

The size for this camera is perfect, so You can carry it anywhere in a small pocket, bag, purse or everywhere.
Syncs fairly easy with Skype, Yahoo and MSN and streams a clear, fast image.
It adjusts focus and light levels very good, so the image is always very clear.

Superior image and sound quality, although it has a feel of cheap plastic

I was somewhat afraid to buy Logitech because a few years ago, their software took up a lot of memory, conflicted with Skype (or it was a problem with Skype but Skype did not have a problem with anything else I tried).

The hinge does not look durable, but so far, so good.

The dual autofocus rocks. The software is now fully compatible with Skype. Glass lens and transparent shiuld protects the lens from dust.

Built-in microphone is superior more sensitive than the one built into HP business laptop.Read full review...

C905 Web Cam

I enjoy it portability and quick hook-up. I decided to get one because i intend to carry my laptop with me to share Family tree additions and deletions with family at family reunions and snap their pics for inclucion purposes. I keep the master copy. I am not too content wiht the quality of camare out put, I can't seem to get the brightness and contrast features. Quality Webcam Worth A Look

This is my first, real, webcam. Meaning: My last computer camera may not have been a webcam. I never found that out. It was low quality. Unlike this webcam.

This camera has high quality and very good software that comes with it.

This webcam has a microphone on it. I tend to forget that it does, though.

If it is not used in a long time, you may need to re-install it. I recently found that out.

The picture is crystal clear. The Carl Zeiss lens attributes to that.

2.0 MP camera, so please don't expect a huge picture. For that, you'll need 3 MP or higher. However, the picture is bit enough for a laptop computer screen (up to a 20 inch screen).

the camera is great! i like my surroundings to be dark so the RIGHTLIGHT feature is perfect, it focuses itself, the stand is the perfect height, WAY BETTER quality than any other logitech webcam i've bought int he past. the only problem is that i'm using it on a desktop so maybe a longer cable would be nice.Read full review...
