Seamless performer with the Squeezebox family
The most complex part of this product is setup, specifically getting the Controller hooked up to your WiFi. This is simply because the method of entry for alphanumeric characters is a little tedious. But once you've done it, it's done.
The Receiver is basically a headless Squeezebox, with WiFi and Ethernet, plus analogue and digital audio out, and indeed you can control any other Squeezeboxen with the Controller that you might have. You'll almost certainly want to run a Logitech Music Server with all your music on it, so bear in mind that while all these Logitech hardware products are long discontinued (why?), the Music Server is now a community supported product and extremely feature-rich.Read full review...

The best streaming music system there was
I've had a Squeezebox Duet since they came out, back in 2008. I was seriously impressed by it when I first got it, and almost a decade later I still am (and am possibly more so, given how long has passed since it was made).
It is (or was -- sadly it's not been manufactured for some time) a fantastic streaming music system, similar to -- but much, much better value than -- Sonos or the like.
I have ~5,000 albums in my collection and Squeezebox (Logitech Media Server) copes with that volume just fine, running on a remarkably cheap Raspberry Pi 3 B+ box plus USB hard-disk (so, less than £100 all-in), serving 3 Duet systems around the house.
Logitech's decision to discontinue the Squeezebox-based system is still utterly baffling -- it beat (or at least equals) all the current alternatives, and I think they could have dominated the streaming music system market if they'd tried. But, hey ho...

A really effective and efficient music's reproduction system
Like a water spring, how can a little spot be so full of possibilities, in what concerns to music reproduction? Easy to setup and use, functional autonomy (just need a network), smallness and weightlessness, sound quality. What else can we want?Read full review...

Essentially a good piece of kit
This works well and really helps if you want to setup the Duet player, although it is possible without if you use scripts, freely available online. Good display etc

Surprisingly does the job well.
Bought second hand and have been surprised how well it fits into my Hi Fi system for its age. Just missing a cover image on the screen as a reminder of which CD is playing, but it is ten years old. Sound quality from FLAC files is great compared with MP3's, but a bit of research is needed to optimise. Remember that you end up with several machines running all because you thought it would be easier than getting off you arse and changing the CD.Read full review...
When running well the quality and funtionality is the best value for money.
Already have a fair bit of experience using this product and accept its shortcomings.
Suffice it to say that am not inclined to try an alternative music streaming system.
Like most wifi products I have tried this product takes some learning to live with and is less than 100% reliable at least when limited by sub 2mb broadband, limited wifi hub power and unfavourable house geometry.
When running well the sound quality and handset functionality could probably only be bettered at many times the cost.Read full review...
Forget Sonos
Probably the best music streamer available, when it was, and still a great piece of kit that you can simply plug in to your existing Hi Fi or other equipment.

Perfect music streamer
My old receiver died and so a replacement was essential.

Excellent
This is an excellent piece of kit. I now own 5 of these units allowing individual listeners to listen to different music in different, roooms or for everthing to be synchonised. I have also installed Duets on two motor yachts. Sadly the whole Squeezebox line is being discontinued by Logitech in favour of lower quality USB based music players. Mike EarlRead full review...
