Does the job well!
This thing is really handy, especially if you run two sets of monitors for referencing. Switching between speakers is smooth with no "pop" in the audio. The volume adjustment is silky smooth compared to using my audio interface volume knob. I cannot hear any coloring of sound as some reviews might tell you. Maybe some folk aren't use to the sound small increments the volume knob provides? The mono button I use all the time during mixing and production to keep an eye on my mixes mono compatibility.
