I was sceptical, but decided to give it a try. If you follow the instructions and have some common sense--then this tool can work well. I have put crisp sharp cutting edges on 3 plane blades and many chisels. The cooling water for the grinding stone did not spray everywhere and didn't need topping up. DIY Item

Definitely a DIY item take your time with this and you can get a good result, works best with smaller items 2" chisels or smaller I have had mixed results with larger plane irons.

If you are a DIY'er and want to get a pretty good edge on your old chisels etc this is fine. From a professional point of view it needs to be made from metal not plastic. The basic design is sound but the plastic has too much give in it to be accurate. Its ok for a quick grind to the right angle but to be right it still needs finishing by hand on a wetstone.Read full review...

Has way to much movement in the whole thing

Has why too much give in the thing it's self so it's very hard to get a straight and level edge it's just about manageable on a small chisel but on a plane blade it was very bad
