These paints are lovely to use, not all lightfast enough for professional work but still worth having.
These paints are a delight to use, they wet easily producing glorious rich colour. They behave beautifully on the paper, and you can achiieve really lovely effects. They mostly mix well without making mud. The drawback is that to give us this experience for the price means using some less expensive pigments. Some have excellent lightfastness but some have not, and some of those fugitive colours are also in the ones with two or three pigments. That means that although those shades will not fade much, they will change as one colour in them goes. This is not a problem if your pieces are going to be printed, or for any work which will not be kept on display. My solution will be to keep the good ones and gradually replace the rest (and black which is lightfast but I don't use) because it's a nice tin and the good colours work better than the same pigments in some other brands. They will also be useful for planning pictures, which I can repeat in a more lasting version if I want to offer one for sale. I must add that most brands sell some shades that are not reliably lightfast, so one needs to do the research and choose accordingly. Fresh,vibrant colours.
Used these for first time to experiment with colours. The colours are bright and fresh. I normally use professional watercolours,traditional British brands.
Not great for natural colours in landscapes and botanical studies but certainly added a new colourful,vibrant dimension to my botanical studies.
