Not Mabuchi

This is not a genuine Mabuchi motor, I installed it in my Lexus RX300 and come to find out when locking the doors this one would unlock and vise versa when unlocking, this one would lock. The polarity is backwards from the original Mabuchi motor. so it spins in the opposite direction. It wasn't worth sending back being it was only $6 with free shipping.
I decided I would bend the tabs out holding the plastic cap/brush holder and rotate it 180 degrees, I had to trim a little plastic off of the cap to get it to fit and got it to spin in the right direction. It seemed to not run as smooth as it did when I first bench tested it but its working now in my truck. when it fails again I will get genuine Mabuchi

Perfect replacement motor for 2010 Escape Rear Liftgate Release

Found a recommendation on a forum to replace this motor rather than the whole latch. Based on price this was a great option so I thought I would give it a try. The only struggle is getting the brass gear off of the old motor but once that was done this was a very simple repair. Put it all back together and it works like a charm.Read full review...

Works great!

This item was as expected and saved me quite a bit of $$ compared to the Ford Latch unit. The gear slid on easily. I did notice that the shaft on this motor is slightly shorter than the original factory. While this was a not a showstopper the shaft did not sit all the way in the slot on the opposite end which I guess can result in movement over time if you don't seal the case all the way. Some folded electric tape on the inside of the case on top of the motor will do it. All together, for $5 ... totally worth it!Read full review...

Perfect Fix

Perfect fix for a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country that had a non-functioning door lock actuator. Just take everything apart, pop in the new motor, and put everything back together. Cheaper than a full replacement actuator!Read full review...

Resolved my faulty door locks problem

Needed a little engineering. I had to swap the shaft from the old motor. Then I had to swap the wires in the car wiring harness to the door locks to make the motor spin in the correct direction. I did utilise the new motor housing, magnets and brush assembly.Read full review...
