It's not just for kids (Madagascar)

Most adults don't watch cartoons well heres one they need to see. From the Studio that brought you Shrek and Shark tale .
This is a fun movie for the hole family. The movie starts out with the Animals all living in the Central Park Zoo in New york and follows there journey to freedom. (Not all of them wanted to leave there Pampered home at the Zoo)
The Six of us all liked this movie very much. From 38 to 5 years old we all enjoyed it. Voices of David Schwimmer,Chris Rock,Ben Stiller and Jada Pinket Smith.
Watch out for the Lemur King (King Julien) he try's to steal the Show.
The kids will want to watch it over an over again!!!!
The DVD also comes with tons of bonus features and a new Penguins Christmas Caper Cartoon.

Enjoy!!!!

I didn't expect alot - and was wrong - This is good !

There have been alot of these types of movies out in the last few years. Cartoon movies, all with superb graphics and celebrity voices. Some have been really good - Like Nemo and Ice Age, others have been so so, like Shark Tale. I wasn't expecting alot when I took the family to see this one. David Schwimmer of "Friends" fame voices one of the characters - and I was never really all that big a fan of his. Let me say this here and now, I was wrong. This movie was terrific. I liked it, my kids liked it, everyone in the theater liked it. The story is unique. The characters, and their voices, work well together. And it's really alot of fun. Highlights include when the animals "break out" of the Zoo and when on they all arrive on Madagascar. There is a great "dance" number involving the song "I like to move it move it" and all the kids in the theater loved it. I really think you can't go wrong here.Read full review...

Loved by Kids, & Kids at heart

Great for adults and small children alike! Madagascar is one of the first DVD's in a long time that my two young girls ask for AGAIN and AGAIN.

The story centers around a group of New York City Zoo animals living a pampered life until Marty, a zebra- hits middle age and starts to wonder if maybe there isn't something more out there. Their adventures together-- along with some hilarious militant penguins, have both subtle adult humor and fun loving songs to keep the kiddos singing and watching.

There is a small amount of violence (aligator eating a duckie, etc.) but in such a way as to not be bloody.

The songs, and the fun charactiers have them singing "you've got to move it move it" in the car all the time. This is one I will most likely need a 2nd copy of-- I'm sure the first one will wear out!

BE SURE to check out the Extra short with this movie-- The Penguins in the Chritmas Caper!!! It is so adorable-- and you'll love it as much (if not more) than the movie itself. Go to the main menu, and it's on the lower right.

My girls give it three belly laughs and a great big hug. :) And my husband and I have been known to watch it again, even if they are asleep!

Madagascar- 5 Star Family Movie!

Amusing for kids…..Entertaining for adults! This is a funny adventure story about how a pack of zoo animals escape from a local zoo and cope in the “wild” amongst a huge group of Ocelots.
It has brilliant humor that adults can enjoy and that children can understand. Our children ages 2 & 5 are totally captivated each and every time they see it! It was a great companion for our kids on a 5 hour road trip that we recently took. The “I like to move it move it” song still have my two kids dancing all over the house.
We saw it in the Theatre and now it sits in our DVD collection as a regularly viewed move.

Really good message in this entertainment

This video is sooo good. Great message, no violence but rivets my husband so that he doesn't wander to the computer and disconnect. It is a Friday night trick to get the family together without them knowing what I have done. Works like a charm and with a hyper sensitive two year old's sensibilities to defend and a husband who watches UFC Fighting (the real thing, not wresting), finding something that works for our whole spectrum can be challenging. This foots the bill and is a staple for any family library. Get it, keep it and put it on when the grandkids come, when the bosses kids are there, or when you want your hubby to hang out in the living room with the kids and spend some down time without hating it.Read full review...

Madagascar

Ah, and then there was Madagascar. Just when you think everything that could be thought of was used up, WHAM! Another Classic is created.

There's really nothing you can say bad about this. As an adult if you critize the Characters not being good. Well, why on earth are you watching a childs movie and expecting awesome results. But thats just it, this movie is great. Great for children, teens, & Adults. Whats the worst that could happen? You get bit on the butt by a lion. You learn not to eat your friends, & instead eat some fish. Penguins dont really belong in Arctic? Who knew! (Just kidding- you'll see)

Anyway, This movie is right up there with Nemo & The Incredibles as a Family Movie. I think the voices/actors were perfect for the Characters. You get what your expecting when you buy the movie. No More, No Less. Its a keeper to my movie collection.

Good movie for the family

The characters were hilarious, and I think what added to this was just how the animators used old-time visual effects to enhance facial expressions. The animators used the old eye-popping effect and face stretching/distorting to make the absolute funnniest expressions. The animation itself was meant to be more "old-school" cartoon-like, but still remarkably eyecatching. It's a great story, one that definitely makes you think a bit more about our animal friends and what they themselves could very well be thinking about us humans and our world. I do recommend for the entire family, the movie could be the initiator of some very deep/meaningful conversation with your children.Read full review...

Very entertaining movie!

I saw Madagascar on an international flight and I'm not sure if I found it hilarious after watching the first feature which was JLo in Monster in-law or if it was just really funny! Actually, I thought that the Madagascar had a good plot and wasn't filled with way too much music like in so many other children's molvies these days. I am looking forward to Madagascar 2!Read full review...
