Awesome game, incredible graphics, and great team introductions

Probably the most realistic Madden to-date, but the overall smoothness of gameplay has decreased in comparison to Madden 11. The quick button audibles have changed slightly making the transition from Madden 11 one that takes some getting used to. Still its a great game and a must have for any football fan and gaming fan with the added features like Madden Arena, NFL.com Fantasy, and completely customizeable playbooks and gameplans. Oh, and lest I forget - FINALLY SOME DIFFERENT COLOR COMMENTARY!Read full review...

The game is average, pick it up cheap now.

I've been a longtime player and have been playing NCAA 12 since it's release. I like the play selection and gameplay better in NCAA 12.

Madden 12 seems to be designed with the casual gamer in mind with the dumb downed play selection. You can customize game menus and the playbook.

I enjoy the franchise mode the best. It is robust from the expanded rosters in pre-season, to scouting of the draft prospects throughout the season. I enjoy saving my draft classes in NCAA 12 and importing them into Madden.

Over all it's worth picking up if you can get the game cheap. Be aware that you will not be able to play online if you buy a used copy.

I donated this to Goodwill after playing it. Good graphics

I played this game like several times and realized it was good.

(Then I donated my Xbox 360 to charity because I decided the original Xbox was a better value and what I was looking for)

Hopefully the new owner will like this pretty cool football game.Read full review...

Madden '12. If you still have an old Madden, don't buy this one.

Same old Madden that EA puts out every year. They pretend to have made improvements (like every year), but they're not noticeable or not there. And, same as always, Madden finds a few ways to drive you nuts. You can't change the difficulty for the "Madden Moments" game mode (it's too easy). You can't skip past the intro coin flip and announcer babble at the beginning of the game (and unless you're playing your rival, they have the same dialog. Every. Single. Game.). In Madden '12 you have the option to Auto-Sprint or, like in the old games, you can choose to keep control of sprinting. However, if you don't Auto-Sprint, you can't pull the ball down as a quarterback - instead you just drift to the line of scrimmage looking like you still want to throw the ball.

Game sucks. Don't waste your money.

7 Seasons later, I still love it....

Still a fun game all these years later.
Gameplay/graphics are very good.
Had to remove/replace the disk a few times on my initial use of the game before it would load, but ever since it's been smooth sailing.Read full review...

Best Madden yet

The last Madden I played was 2010, for the most part, the gameplay is unchanged from the Madden 10, however there are some key variations that make the experience much more enjoyable. On its standard settings, a single 4 quarter game can be played in about 30 to 40 minutes in Madden 12. Madden 10 (because of the halftime graphics, and other heavy nonsense) bogged the single gametime down to 45 minutes to an hour minimum. In a given sitting, now you can knock out 2 or 3 games comfortably, versus 1 to 2 games uncomfortably (this is my opinion).
Play calling is slightly more "automated". You can still pull up a full playbook as in the past, but the quick options for plays are to go with your "Gameplan" or a "Run" or a "Pass" play. These plays are generated in a similar way the Madden Suggests a few plays in the Playbook. On Defense I typically just pick the Gameplan, and on Offense I typically do the same with some minimal variation - it is very easy to call audibles, and change hot routes on the fly, so I find myself customizing the plays as I go, and not relying on the base plays all the time.
I've mostly played Franchise, but have played some Superstar and that mode is improved as well - instead of a Superstar perspective while playing, it matches other game modes. I've only played as a QB though.
Long story short, I think this is the best iteration of Madden yet. The scouting in Franchise mode is altered - makes it more difficult to scout more guys, but it also makes it more manageable and less cumbersome. Also, in Franchise mode there are now expanded rosters during offseason and pre-season. So feel free to draft a lot of rookies, and then just cut them as you go along (in the past in order to draft rookies you'd have to cut guys currently on your roster in order to sign them - no more).

Great game

The last madden game I bought was madden 2009. I lost the thrill in playing the game. I saw what I thought was a very good price for this game. So I took a chance and purchased madden 12, and I am very glad I did!!! The game is more realistic than the madden I stop playing. I like the fact that in this one you can edit your players traits during franchise mode, something you couldn't do in older madden games. And the fact that I can customize the play of the game more to my liking. There is nothing I disliked about the game!!! There are a lot more things I can say about it, but it would take to much time writing them all. It has brought back the thrill of playing madden football. For those of you who are thinking about buying this game, in my opinion this would not be a bad purchase!!!Read full review...

Nice game

Madden NFL 12 continues the rich tradition of the storied franchise by bringing fans closer to the NFL than ever before. Featuring all 32 teams, stadiums, and all your favorite players in the league, Madden NFL 12 is True to the Game. All-new collision system, advanced defensive A.I. enhancements highlight the 2012 edition's improved feature set, with Custom Playbooks also added provide a more authentic gameplay experience. Franchise mode includes more than 100 new features and enhancements, while Superstar mode now allows fans to control the growth of their superstar with an all-new progression system. Dynamic Player Performance creates unprecedented realism as a player's skills and confidence will rise and fall based on his performance throughout a game or in Franchise mode, just like the real NFL. No two players will play the same in Madden NFL 12. Further adding to the experience, Online Communities will provide an all-new way for Madden NFL gamers to meet and play, and Madden NFL Ultimate Team continues to offer the perfect combination of Madden NFL Football, fantasy football, and trading cards.Read full review...

Very fun

A very fun game to get into, I prefer the franchise mode because you can make your own team and load them in the franchise mode which is very fun to do. The team creation could be a little better and I wish there were more logo options, but you can still make some very sexy teams.Read full review...
