Magellan Roadmate

I need a small gps to put on my motorcycle. This fits the bill. If something happens to it I'm only our $30 and since it's got 2014 maps, it's fairly up to date. Not the best gps going but for what it is, you can't beat it.

Very user friendly with a name you can trust.

There's so many types and styles of vehicle portable GPS's that I had to do a bit of research before buying.
There were three main factors in my decision to buy this make and model. 1) BRAND NAME. I know of Magellan from past GPS purchases. 2) FEATURES. I like the touch-screen and street name vocals on this model. 3) VALUE. I chose this one because it was highly rated, and it was factory rconditioned as opposed to brand new. That brought me about the same product quality, with a lower price tag. I've only used it a few times and haven't delved into all the features, hence my lower rating on features.
However, it has performed to my expectations, and although you might find other makes with larger screens, the size of this models screen is more than ample. In addition, the case is thinner than most, which means it it less bulky and easier to store.
Bottom line is that if you are in the market for an occasional-use GPS that's user friendly, this model is for you.Read full review...

Magellan Roadmate 1340

The product is easy very easy to use. I purchased a refurbished unit that was eligible for the Magellan updates of software and maps. The update software running on the PC is automatic and keeps the unit up to date very well. The only con for the unit is the screen size. It is a little small for some people, but on the other hand it does not block visibility when driving. I was very impressed with the emergency button for finding police, fire and hospital locations if the need arises.

RoadMate 1340 .. for the price.. awesome !!

Simple review ..
You can check out all of the specifications online for this little receiver, but I can tell you it's fantastic.
You can get these for less than $40 online used .. and maybe the screen is not the biggest available and it does not have blue-tooth.. but I found the screen big enough for our family and if I can save $100 .. who needs the blue-tooth feature.

Magellan GPS Navigator keeps you going in the right direction.

It’s pretty great!!

I used it today around town and it got me to my destination in an efficient time/way. It talks to me so I don’t have to keep staring at the screen. On top of that When I turn The gps gives a cute little warning beep when I have to turn which is nice. The gps is small so it doesn’t tell you what your ETA is or the mileage between you and the destination but for 10$, it’s perfect.Read full review...

Magellan RoadMate 1340 - GREAT GPS!

I have owned several GPS systems over the last few years, so far this one is the best. I have used it for hours (several of which I set it to find a destination, while ignoring the prompts) It continuously re-routed without crashing or causing any problems. This is a very loud GPS system for such a small device (a definite positive, as the volume can obviously be lowered).. The text-to-speech function is very clear and easily understood..
