My favorite of the series

My two daughters- ages 5 and 8, have been listening to this series of books by Ann Martin on our long commute to work/school and have loved them! I loved this one so far the best because it encourages the listener to read books by way of the characters reading and getting excited about reading. Also, the books that the characters read are REAL books, so I was able to go out and purchase them for my 8 year old to read- and she has loved them! I would not have picked these titles for her, so I am glad that she had role models (the characters) that got her excited to read them.
The story tell the tale of 2 sisters who have lost their parents in a car accident and have gone to live with their grandmother in Camden Falls, MA. The book is set in their second summer with their grandmother, and the younger of the sisters is worried that she will be bored. Then, books start arriving mysteriously for the girls and their friends to read and discuss- as well as activities to do. The girls spend a summer learning about each other and themselves through the stories the books tell and the activities they do. Finally the person behind the secret book club is revealed at the end.
We can't wait for the next book to come out on audio!
