This is a definite upgrade from my previous manfrotto ball head . Yes heavier and bulkier, but the stability makes up for that.

I purposely selected this tripod although lighter carbon fibre examples are probably better, but more expensive. The price was very good and for occasional use it is very appropriate

Manfrotto 055 tripod

A extremely rigid mounting platform. Used for a Heavy spotting scope and in conjunction with the manfrotto 502 head it's a superb setup.
