CLASSIC TDA R2R smooth analog like sound. Even compared to a thousand dollar Marantz SA8005 this just has an overall smoother less digital sound

TDA based CD players are highly sought after for their characteristic warm musical analog-like sound may have been because that at the time was the standard to be beat I. e. vinyl. Now basically if it sounds better than Spotify it's considered great but there's so much more to it than that which is guess is why there has and seemingly will always be a demand for tda based audio sources, even just dacs made of multiple TDA dacs set in parallel.

there's a certain run and engaging sound that these devices have that is similar to what mid fi CD players with their boosted bass etc have but without having to rely on trickery or otherwise any compromise in transparency. They just sound great and smoother than SDACs with a sound stage that goes deeper than how SDACs and their more clinical sound tends to sound more holographic and in your face but at the expense of more hearing fatigue.

These devices are also commonly modded with tubes to take their analog sound even further.

by bass head us it for parties is my Kenwood, my so there entranced player is my Marantz SA series while the CDP series is my work horse that kind of sweetens the sound of bands whose production value would be too low to be enjoyable on a player as transparent and digital as the Marantz SA series.
