FOUND MY STRING OF CHOICE
I fitted these all-silver strings to my Martin Dreadnought Jr and am very happy with the tone. They feel a bit more course against the fingertips than Elixirs but they have a lovely warm, zingy tone that suits the Martin very well. I plan to fit them to my Taylor GS Mini next. Martin Retro monel.
Great strings, I usually play with custom lights (11s) but I ordered the 12s of the retros. Never used them before. They feel slightly lighter than your typical 12 gauge and they sound great on my 000x1ae. For more dazzly pieces I might try the 11s next time but quality strings. The Martin Retro strings do last almost as long as their coated strings but without the side effect of an acoustic guitar played through a piezo pickup, on the contrary these Retro strings have plenty of “zing” and presence without sounding fake
