Convenient and Yet Mobile

Good thing about the surface is that its very lightweight, HD screen gives it a visual feeling that laptops don't in my opinion. It does require 2-4 hour charge depending on use and it does stay on quite a bit. Actually battery life compared to its competition is much better. You may need screen protectors and casing only because it will leave finger print and smudges with normal wear. Camera works perfectly though don't expect state of the art imagery. sound works perfectly too and functionality of WiFi and Bluetooth gives it that added touch of technical mobility. Keyboard is an added touch though it is an extra cost. You can use the built in keyboard since it's actually a versatile tablet but with a keyboard makes and gives that feeling of a nice laptop. The colorful keyboards offered gives its uniqueness to ones own personality.

Bad thing only I can say about the Surface, its proprietary software limits software, installs and anything Microsoft from their Microsoft Store. You can not install your own software or download any software that is not compatible. Since the store will give you mostly every popular program out there, a few popular programs like snapchat is not available so you may need to look at an alternative.

Great for the price.

The only thing that I really didn't like about this Surface RT was that it can't even connect to a wireless printer so that is the only really downfalls about it if you're looking for something to surf the web with however and watch movies on Netflix then it's a pretty good bye but would not recommend it though for office and business kind of stuff I would however go with a Surface Pro 3 or 4 which I have now.Read full review...

Good for the value, needs more APPS !

Many good features and works well so far, light to carry and keyboard gives person a feel for continued keyboarding; unlike virtual screen keyboards. Responds well to wireless connectivity and comes with MS Office. Down side not a lot of Apps offered so far. Only navigator is Internet Explorer. Still learning to manipulate touch screen and dual applications be open at the same time side by side,Read full review...

It sure beats an iPad for my purposes (and cheaper)

I've had an ipod touch for several years, an iphone4 for a year, and an ipad for a bit over a year. All of these work pretty well, of course. One of my avocations is digitizing and cleaning up photos/slides/transparencies/negatives of small art objects (netsuke - look it up) - done about 10000 of them, to preserve them for study, etc. I've also digitized a number of journals as pdfs. The journals (and movies, and family photos, and music (sheet, books) go onto the ipad. Unfortunately, the ipad lacks indexing capability (as far as I've discovered). The Surface solved that issue nicely. Now I have about 10000 jpgs on the Surface, accessible individually because I've included searchable keys within the filenames. Displaying them on the surface works at least as well as on the ipad (zooming and resolution and color), and it cost a lot less than an ipad (and it does Word and Excel and Powerpoint, etc., and has a keyboard - different, but easy to use, as well as a USB port, which can be expanded with a USB port multiplier). It also replaces a heavier (and not as capable) H-P netbook - lighter for traveling.Read full review...

Suface 2 rt

The device is amazing. Condition is great. Amazingly easy to use, fast processor. Unique little(big) tablet. Nothing to do with seller or condition of item, my only issue is incompatibility with most of the apps I use on my laptop/desktop. And the inability to install apps outside of Microsoft store.Read full review...

Much better than the reviews would have you believe

Surprising good, integrated well with my home network for transferring files. It installed printer drivers for my laser and inkjet printers, those work well.

The update to 8.1 went was easy, now the library folders can be set to the SD card. Outlook RT included. As far as win 8 RT is concerned it was easy for me to use and find what I needed to work with it.

Very pleased with this product, it can do things my Xoom or iPad can't.

Apps not as mature as iPad or Android but I found the ones I needed.

I love my Surface RT. For me, there is nothing better out there!

I absolutely love my new Surface RT. I love the performance, the versatility, battery life and design of this baby! I got a great deal from the seller - the type cover was included for less than the price of a retail Surface so it was a no-brainer of a deal. My wife has totally been envious of my newfound ability to work as productively on my tablet as I do on my laptop which surprised even me. The Surface is NOT just a media consumption device but actually a real workhorse, and for office productivity, a laptop replacement. I take my tablet to weekly meetings now and I can REALLY work while on the airplanes and battery life is really impressive.

There are still little issues like finding the perfect case, having to buy a newer printer or wait for a driver to be released for my older printer and there are some missing 3rd party applications that would affect my wife's productivity in her profession (Medicine) as well as mine (Construction) but this tablet has been a game-changer for me and a HUGE step up from Android tablets. I love the instant integration with my home network and File Server, via baked in RDP and Homegroup support and the multimedia experience is better than Android as well because the networking capabilities are at the OS level - no more apps to see my media!

I have read articles on why Microsoft chose not to implement NFC or GPS (both of which would have been heaven on earth with this form factor) but they said it was because it would have made the device larger, adversely affect battery life and cost more. My grip is if my phone, which is much smaller, can have these technologies, and there are USB GPS dongles out there, why not? But, there is the fact that there are not many other products out there which have both so hopefully in the next generation they will figure it out. I think the OS, while new, is really mature in many areas of navigation user experience and Microsoft has been hard at work releasing patches and refinements to the experience since I've owned mine. They are reportedly working on a major OS improvement, slated for later this year so they seem to be fully invested in the platform.

Awesome tablet. I highly recommend it for work, school, or blogging!

I am a college student as well as a full-time sales rep. I did a fair amount of research before I bought this tablet, and I think I made a great choice. This tablet is amazing for note-taking for school, work meetings or training's, and blogging.

The screen looks fantastic, it is very crisp. The interface is easy to use, yet professional looking. I always feel awesome when I swipe through and navigate my tablet in front of people, everyone is always amazed!

The fact that it has Microsoft office really sold it for me. It actually was the deciding factor. Well, that and the fact that it has both a USB port AND an SD Card slot. Those were all essential to me, and are the main reason that I bought the tablet.

One-note is fantastic; it lets me get rid of all my notebooks that I have laying all over my room and puts all of my notes in one place. I have all my school notes, work notes, and blog notes in the same spot! Not to mention it is incredibly easy to sync up everything from the tablet to both my computer and phone, so I have no fear of losing my data.

One-note isn't the only thing that syncs up with all my devices; I also use Trello, and Word, and a bunch of other stuff.

The only down-sides to this tablet are the lack of apps and the crappy speakers. It has more apps than I expected, but I would not recommend this tablet or this OS to people that like to game. It lacks any good game apps other than the most popular, and it doesn't get very loud. But then again, I wasn't expecting the speakers to be that loud nor did I really care. That's what my Jabra Solemate and earbuds are for. :)

MS Surface

I love it. It's thin and not bulky like my other notebooks; allowing easy storage while on the fly. It has plenty of memory and is expandable w/ the card drive. The wifi works great and allows the mobility I need. Having the Windows OS allows me to use the compatible programs- Office, word, excel, Powerpt and etc. I am going to download Final Drift and I'll be good to go.Read full review...

Great Tablet/PC combo

Perfect for my job on the go, Does way more then my Android Tablet. Only complaint I have is the issue with not being able to close windows or tabs easily. Because it's not easy I have to look it up on google every time, and at times I find I have 30-40 windows open due to it being so hard to close them out. Other then that issue I love it.Read full review...

This Surface is an awesome product and a good value; no regrets!

Because I needed to upgrade to something with faster speed and with a newer operating system than Windows XP. I like Microsoft products, particularly the Surface. If it was in my budget, I would get the newest version. I chose a used Surface over other products out there because I feel it is a better product and a better value; especially if compared to
Apple's iPad. The Surface can do more than the over-priced iPad because it is not a closed system.
