Very easy to install over an older existing version.
The item came as described. I installed over an existing Office 2007 version and it did it all automatically, including importing all of the Outlook settings, address book, messages and files from it - even the color theme. Same for the other programs (Word, Excel, Publisher...) I was expecting to have to do a lot of this manually, and to spend much more time.

Nothing like owning your own copy of Microsoft Office rather than a pricey yearly subscription!
I am a senior citizen and while I have always loved using Microsoft Office, the switch from buying your software outright to a subscription service hits the budget hard. I wanted to find Microsoft Office 2010 which comes on a DVD. My desktop has a DVD and so does my laptop so this installed on both. One price and it is mine rather than paying $99 a year for a subscription. I had a slight problem when my DVD drive did not download the program. It kept ejecting the disc. But, it was not this software, it was my desktop. So, since you cannot download Office 2010 online, I installed it on the laptop and then copied the files to a thumb nail drive. The installation on my desktop went perfectly from the thumbnail drive. The software comes with a key and you are able to install on three devices. I never was asked for a key, so I have a feeling that it could be installed on however many machines you wished. But, that is just a guess. I am using this on 2 refurbished XP computers that I use offline to control scientific instruments, Data output from the instruments require Excel. I loaded Office onto both computers using this stick and the programs run correctly without requiring the product key?? The message saying a key is required has not appeared yet. I am expecting that after a month the software will ask for the product key and activation and I will know then whether I will be able to activatye the software on 2 computers.Read full review...

So far I like it! It was taken me 5 years to get make the move from Office 2007 which I love to Office 2010 because I'm afraid like so many other programs now days that it will become more difficult as computer programmers continue to simplify to the point of absurdity.
