Milliput standard

I purchased Milliput standard purely on the basis of reviews & modellers furums I’ve read & also YouTube videos I’ve watched. Apart from products that apparently can only be found in the USA 🇺🇸 this Milliput putty is clearly the preferred choice of many if not most modellers. So I’ve every confidence in the product, now I’ve just got to pluck up the courage to take the plunge. I recently bought the Hobby Boss Tiger 1 in 1 in 1 /16 scale so it’s a big boy & requires zimmerit coating to be applied. I’ve built Tamiya 1/35 German tanks before & you can purchase zimmerit stickers which are very good although they look a bit too perfect. Also I’ve used Eduard photo etch zimmerit before but I’ve never done it ‘home made’ before. So in short I think I’ve bought the right stuff for the job now I just got to get on with it. 🤞it’ll turn out fine. Read full review...

Too hard when mixed.

Once mixed (and that takes some doing) it is far too hard to be of use.
"No more nails" or decorator's filler, is much easier to fill gaps.
I bought it for model making, but it is redundant.
It needs to be much more flexible/pliant/soft, to get in place.
It does set rock hard, but then is a pain to sand down.
Car body filler is another option.
I have not found a use for it yet !

Simply brilliant

This stuff is really impressive. I had broken a garden ornament, ceramic, and it was rather badly smashed with quite a number of missing bits. I reassembled it using Milliput as the adhesive and also filling the gaps. It was very easy to work with and having left it for a few hours it became rock hard. I was able to sand it to shape and then repaint it. A very satisfying result. From now on the Milliput will be part of my toolbox. Read full review...

Briiliant stuff that everyone should have to hand.

Years ago I learnt that Milliput was something very useful to keep around. I've used it to rebuild metal castings, seal cracks underwater, create mounts that required a complicated shape & many other tasks.
It's adhesion isn't that good but using Milliput to create a piece that is an exact fit a spot of cyanoacrylate will soon make it stick.
If you need a widget of certain shape mould a piece of Millput & let it set. Then you have your custom moulded widget.
It is also surprisingly tough, though not very hard. Tensile strength is not great but adequate for most situations, if more is needed then I just mould a piece of steel into it.
Brilliant stuff that every handy man should keep in their toolbox.
For crafts people - this is like Fimo that you don't need to bake. Only stronger.

Fix it All!

This is a totally brilliant bit of kit, useful for so many things and situations. I use it mostly for assembling miniatures but have used it to repair cars and bikes and even a bottle opener. Just blend equal portions together with your fingers, push it into whatever shape required and leave to set. Can be drilled, filed, sanded and painted when it has set.Read full review...

been using it for years

usual standard for model repairs. Millput yellow or white are the same material just the finish. I use it on model's repairs of toy soldiers like Elastolin from before the second world war. The toy solders were made of compressed wood chips around a wire frame. These soldiers split and Milliput will be used to make a repair before sanding and painting.

The tubes `( two parts in packet ) you pull off and mix equal parts and rub them together until mixed, apply then let them go hard. Make sure they are air tight as the material will harden over the years. so wrap the two parts not used up well in the plastic wrapping in the box.

easy to use two part plastic putty.

This is my go-to filler for plastic kit modelling, courser but also stronger than the excellent Fine White it is perfect for gap filling and conversion work, it is also fantastic for sculpting.

Milliput Standard

Milliput has been around for years now and is well thought of in the modelling community. Follow the instructions and you cannot go wrong. If you are sculpting water is your best friend and can be used to smooth and mould surfaces. The material can be pushed around using tools, fingers, wetted brushes. etc., and you have plenty of time to work with it to get your desired results.

I used the standard Milliput, but there are several types and colours for specific uses, e.g. pottery repair.

It has a shelf life of about 6 months and comes in two "sticks" - cut off equal amounts and work together for 5 minutes before use. My advice would be to use two different cutters or different sections of a blade to avoid cross contamination between the sticks.

Very versatile stuff.

Very versatile stuff, easy to mold into shape and sticks to anything. Once hard it can be sanded & painted. I like the fact that it can be smoothed into shape using wet hands or fingers, as modeling a pot out of clay. That makes a neat job, even before sanding.Read full review...

A versatile repairing product

I have not used this product before but it an amazing product, I bought it to repair the door hinge to my gas meter box. But then I had an accident with one of my wife's garden orniments. I had epoxy glue to repair it but the part was heavy and wouldnot stop in place. So I used this product and it acted as a support to the part while the epoxy cured as well as itself curing and giving extra support. It can be shaped and a quick splash of paint and my wfie will never know I broke one of her orniments.Read full review...
