Static electricity on your vinyl collection is not your friend

As long as this device is used properly the results are dramatic. However, the instructions included are vague (I'm being generous).

Four (4) slow pulls and releases directed toward the vinyl are required for optimum results, and I do mean 'slow'. If the gun 'clicks' during the pull or the release you are going too fast and will have to repeat the process. Slow and easy does it.

Full instructions can be found on the web.

Should be a must have for vinyl record collectors.

This product is easy to use and performs well. It has a nice finish and is very comfortable in your hand. I have been using this for about two weeks now, almost every day and it makes a visible as well as an audible improvement to my vinyl records. It can be used on other items as well such as clothing. I would recommend this product and believe it should certainly be in the tool kit of anybody that has vinyl records.Read full review...

Long way to ship

The item’s just as you’d expect. Well made. Works well. Mine shipped through Cyprus(?) but originated in China, a place I try to buy nothing from. I wouldn’t have bought this had I known. And I don’t know why, except the 1st gen ones back in the 20th c operated by using a bit of radioactive material. This doesn’t. Little piezo element .
If you’ve not used one of these before, it appears to do nothing. Your records don’t light up or throw the dust across the room. But you’ll hear it, and you’ll see a lot more debris on your discwasher. A real must-have if you can’t resist picking through piles of old records.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM!!

Works like a charm!! Easy to use!! Did the Kleenex tissue taste where one place a piece of tissue paper on the vinyl, tilt the record forward and the tissue paper sticks due to the static. 4 presses on the trigger from the Zerostat, placed tissue on the vinyl and as soon as you begin to tilt the record, it slides right off!! Super device....

Have patience with it. Pull trigger and release very slowly. You dont want to hear the clicking. I did the balloon routine and works great, but its not a toy . Good on vinyl , cds , dvds , laser dics and computer discs. Also your 45's if u have any. It eliminates those little shocks. Enjoy its uses. Read full review...

Zerostat is a must for vintage records

I consider the Milty Zerostat an essential piece of equipment. I'm on my second zerostat. The first one was purchased in the 1970s.
Removing static charge is the first step to cleaner records. I use it before cleaning with the vacuum record cleaner or with the carbon brush on the turntable. Just two or three slow trigger squeezes and releases is all it takes.

It works!

Was having static issues due to environment and had tried everything, cleaning/washing records, multiple carbon fiber brushes, mofi #9, gruve glide and this works the best of them all.

Also I have learned NOT to apply any liquid or solution to records/needle as depending on your needle that can wear it out early. I love that this zaps static without touching the record.

I zap record with gun, and then use a grounded (with cable) carbon fiber brush to pickup any remaining dust. Now hearing my records at their quietest.
