Switched to Mitchelle Lurie 3.0 reeds from Vandorn V12 2.5 reeds

Based on teacher's recommendation, my daughter switched to Mitchelle Lurie 3.0/3.5 reeds from Vandorn V12 2.5 reeds. This reed is much easier to play and sounds very good. She tried 3 reeds and they all seems right. V12 is not very consistent. The very best V12 sounds better and more expressive than ML 3.0/3.5 but mostly there are only two to three good reeds out of the 10 packs box that you can enjoy. The rest will be the ok reeds and super hard through away reeds. Based on the good reeds ratio, ML reeds are much more affordable. She can focus on practicing rather selecting the reeds. I believe ML reeds are good for students. For pro level players, I guess you will not mind of throwing away many Vandorn reeds to find the very best to make a living.Read full review...
