Nothing is sacred!
Me and my kids are huge Monty Python fans! We have watched the Holy Grail a dozen times at least, and know parts of it by heart. I finally got around to watching this movie too. The Holy Grail I think is a much better movie, and Meaning of Life is not as cohesive, rather a series of sketches slightly tied to the central theme of the meaning of life. I admit that I had to ff (fast forward) through a few parts when watching it with my kids. But I still howled with laughter over many of the individual skits, like the one about the officer's missing leg; cracks me up just thinking about it. Or the one about the hugely obese man vomiting all over and then exploding after one last "wafer thin" mint. Some of the songs are embarrasingly catchy ( Every sperm is sacred! ) Anyway, this movie is a good addition to the Python catalog, and any fan will enjoy.Read full review...

ERIC IDLE IS AN F---ING MUSICAL WORDSMITH COMEDY GENIUS!!!!!!
Our six zany British comic geniuses reunite to bring their loyal fans (such as myself) and novice newcomers the final big-screen outing, THE MEANING OF LIFE. And let me tell you, this is a funny-as-hell comedy classic that deserves to reside along with MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL and LIFE OF BRIAN.
I'm going to give a short analysis on THE MEANING OF LIFE because there isn't much of a plot to begin with.
But there are so many Top 5 moments where I found myself laughing to death while watching this movie:
5. EVERY SPERM IS SACRED
Simply, a toe-tappingly hilarious musical number that no other American big-screen comic would ever dare to pull off. Especially Will Ferrell or even worse Pauly Shore.
4. MR. CREOSOTE
Don't even think about watching this scene while eating.
3. FIGHTING EACH OTHER
Whoever knew that war can be so funny?
2. DEATH
Once again, John Cleese never lets us down with his dead-on portrayal of a frustrated Grim Reaper.
1. THE GALAXY SONG
This number one moment reveals the fact that Eric Idle is an f---ing musical wordsmith comedy genius.
If you're willing to spend hard-earned money on this DVD, I would recommend the extras packed two-disc special edition. And trust me, they are truly as Pythonseque as extras can be.Read full review...
