Motorola V525

This mobile is designed well. It has some good features - colour screen, bluetooth and a VGA camera to name a few. However, it lacks an external memory slot, a quality camera and 3G. Not bad for the price though.Read full review...

Very good phone at the time. Great for travelling and can be used as modem.

I bought this phone before going travelling in 2004.
This phone is quad-band so can be used pretty much worldwide.
It can also be used as a modem for a laptop.

The flip design is good as no accidental calls, and the screen stays nice as it is protected when not in use.
The camera died after a while, which was a shame.

The phone lasted a few years before becoming too unreliable to use (in New Zealand it started dropping calls, however we were also warned that quad-band phones made in different parts of the world were not so reliable on New Zealand networks as phones sold to be used on the New Zealand networks).

Overall very useful all round the world, even in the Caribbean where the 850 band is common.

Now it is available very cheaply, it would make a good phone for travelling in most countries, with little financial risk if lost or stolen.

ideal first phone

good little phone that is an ideal choice for a first phone. bought it for my 8yr old son as a means of staying in touch and he has quickly and easily learned to use it. I would say however that i purchased a new battery which only cost pennies as the older the phone the less time you get from an older fully charged battery.Read full review...

Simply good

Looking for a flip phone I decided to buy this one. It is good to use good to carry and good value. Maybe the quality is a little lacking, but the size and style is ideal. Overall a good reliable mobile.Read full review...

Simple yet reliable

I've had a Motorola V525 for about 2 years, and it has never let me down. It is quite chunky flip phone and is comfortable to hold. The keys are large enough to be easily seen and pressed with a fingertip (unlike a more modern phone I was looking at recently where the keys could only be depressed by using a long fingernail or pen tip!) It has a built in camera, which is not high spec, but for photography I use a camera; this is a phone! I have recommended this model phone to 2 other people, both of whom bought one and both of whom love them. If you're looking for a reliable phone to use for calls, texts and occasional snapshots, I would certainly give this a try. However, if you want an all-singing, all-dancing phone that does everything other than putting the kettle on, this probably won't be for you.Read full review...

When selling a mobile phone

I bought this phone because I like motorola makes. I was made aware that it didn't charge - this was because the seller thought it was the charger (I think?) but it was the battery (wanted a new one). It was as it was described, but please when selling a mobile phone, remember to delete messages, videos etc. I won't go into detail about what was on the phone as I only read 2 messages from new years eve and saw a few photo's none offencive but it seems a shame if you would really wanted them, then it was cleaned up. Overall yes it was as it was described and when plugged into a charger it did work.Read full review...

Motorola V525

I'm not a big mobile phone user & had inherited a Motorola V300 from my daughter. I was OK but although unlocked it stll had embedded T-mobile firmware & I use Vodaphone. This V525 is essentially the same phone but has Vodaphone firmware, it works very well & suits me fine & does everything I want & more! & I have got a spare battery & accessories. The phone is in excellent condition, I'm very happy with it.Read full review...
