The Motorola SB6141 cable modem, is an excellent, fast, high quality modem for your home or office.

Setup of this modem is very easy. Simply connect your broadband internet cable to your modem, connect to the ethernet cable from the modem to your computer, connect the power supply to the modem, wait for the modem to sync up with your connection, and call your cable company to activate the hardware.

This particular modem, has eight downstream channels, and four upstream channels.

This modem has twice as many downstream channels as the sb6120, and half as many Downstream channels is the sb6183 (which has 16 downstream channels).

The sb6120, the SB6141, and the sb6183 are all excellent choices in cable modems.Read full review

Excellent router

My cable provider was charging me $5 a month rent for their modem. What a scam. When we got rid of our cable TV, I still wanted high-speed internet, so I did a little research and found that this modem was what the company was currently using for new customers, so I purchased it so I wouldn't be charged for modem rental every month.

I thought that I would have to contact the cable provider to have them help me set up the modem, but I just plugged in in my Apple PowerMac, and it pretty much set itself up. I didn't have to call anyone to help me at all.

I haven't had any issues with the modem not working at all. It is an excellent modem for both accessing the internet and for saving money by not being charged monthly rental costs. You may think that it is too expensive, but $5 a month adds up over the years, and when you sit down to figure out how much you have spent in rental fees, you will realize that you could have purchased several of the same modems for what you have been paying in rental fees.Read full review
