General Features

* 360 Dribbling: The 360 dribbling system provides finer dribbling control, enabling players to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible
* Skilled Dribbling: Animation warping technology provides unprecedented control. Skilled players now have the ability to face a defender and use highly-responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him
* Freedom in Physical Play: Wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender
* Player Urgency: Improved urgency AI logic, with over 50 new movement cycles, delivers more responsive positioning so your players stay focused on the ball and move at a speed appropriate to the action
* Improved Trapping Intelligence: Players now have a better awareness of where the easiest, most natural trapping position is so they can get the ball on the ground and under control easier and earlier
* Advanced Positioning: Defenders multi-task and play the pitch more intelligently by covering dangerous spaces left by out-of-position teammates. In attack, players analyze space more effectively, curve their runs to stay onside, create passing lanes and vary attacking options

* Authentic Shooting: Refinements to the shooting system and modifications of the ball physics create a wider, more realistic variety of shots that enhance the exhilaration of scoring
* Varied Defending Options: Slide Tackle targeting has been enhanced so skilled players have more reach and avoid tackling through the dribbler. Better effort clearance logic gives defenders more options when attempting to get a foot on the ball before an attacker. Effort, such as sliding to block crosses and overhead kick clearances, give defenders more tools to prevent goal-scoring opportunities
* Refined Goalkeeper Intelligence: Numerous improvements mean that goalkeepers now have more urgency and better perception of where to intercept loose balls, resulting in a more responsive and powerful rushing system. New animation warping technology provides game-realistic goalkeeper positioning and momentum, resulting in more varied scoring opportunities

NBA 2K10 4 XBox360!!

This overall is a great game, but it needs a few touch-ups. First of all, the graphics are amazing. 2KSports did an awesome job of creating not only the star players faces with brilliant detail, but every player in the league. This is better than NBA Live 2010 by far. The glitches though, were annoying, but not unbearable. For example, sometimes, just to "help you out" the computer will move your player automatically, even when you dont want your player to move. Another problem I saw frequently was in the low-post. An offensive player that tries to spin around a defender with his back to the basket cannot seem to take a clean shot. The player looks as if they can get a good shot off, but for some reason, they do a pump fake that gives the defender a lot of time to react and alter the shot. With me, because I like to play the game in the paint, I got very upset with this aspect of the game. But, the rest of this game is wonderful. There are so many game types to play: Quick-games, seasons, the association, practice, situations, playoffs, 21, street, 3-pt shootouts, and even dunk contests. This is the best complete NBA game to date. Not to mention the new My Player mode. This is a great addition. It can get frustrating in the beginning because you start out as a low overall rating, but it gets really fun once you are drafted.Read full review...

Another great game by NBA 2k series

When it comes to basketball video games NBA2K is always a head of the competition. graphics and game play are always better than the EA sports version, but only for true basketball fans. i say that because even though many people would enjoy this game, if your a big fan and know what style each team plays you will find the game easier, also learing how to play inside out makes it easier just like in real life. Knowing when to push the pace and when to pull it back, if your a casual basketball fan or just are buyin the game for casual gamming you migth preffer EA LIVE better but if you enjoy playing different styles to suit the team your using and enjoy making the right play at the right time this is the game for you.Read full review...

Hang in there!

I like this game more and more everytime I play it. At first it was frustrating and a lot like what other people described, the CPU will hit 60% from the floor and you'll hit 20% and get beat down. This will get better quickly depending on your learning curve and how experienced you are at hoop games. I consider myself a beginner because even though I have played a lot of hoop games in the past, I haven't owned one since I got my 360. I've had the game for a week and play 1-2 games a night and already I'm holding my own against some good teams. I haven't played Live so I can't make any comparisons, I chose this game based on reputation. I just know that I like playing a controlled game that focuses on moving the ball and creating the shots you want. Once you get the controls down this game creates a nice simulation of what you'd be doing on the court and looks great doing it.Read full review...

Refurbished XBOX 360 Elite

This was a great system. It ran really well and played games on disk as well as Hard Drive. I've yet to test the DVDs but I'm sure they work also. The sytem game neatly packages and everything states was included.

The only problem was, the controllers right joystick did not work when moving it to the right. This was probably overlooked by the people fixing the system, because every other motion on the joystick work except for that one direction. I did end up spending an extra $60 for a new controller. So that was a pain.

Other than that I'm satisfied.

Game is legit

It was the latest installment in the NBA 2K line and I wanted to give it a shot, it was actually one of the biggest reasons I bought the 360. It took a few games to get used to the controls and change of gameplay and for me the game can actually get pretty tough at times, but it's still a good time. 2K sports needs to fix the salary cap issues with the game and should upgrade the prospect scouting (ex. show pictures of the players and give you the ability to actually see them play and go more in depth like you can with college games)

Btw get college hoops going again!

Best you can get

It's not the best basketball game, but it's ranked highest among it's competition. A few glitches make the game frustrating at times, ie:

-The refs take too long to give up ball on an inbound pass, sometimes run to and from the whole court before giving the ball to the player.

-Way too easy to drive inside.

But overall, it's very enjoyable and the graphics are great.

Major Disappointment!!!

First off, I will start off by saying that I USED to be the biggest "2K" fan there is! Since its inception ("NBA 2K" for the Dreamcast), I have never played another basketball game. Sadly, that's about to change. What's so disappointing is the fact that this is the 10th anniversary of the series. I expected this to be the greatest basketball game ever made but instead, it is a monumental let down. Here are several reasons why this game sucks:

1) The game shipped with plenty of bugs and glitches (a patch was released on 11/7 but the game still sucks)

2) The players move robotically and on fast breaks, they unexplainably run towards the sideline instead of going towards the basket

3) The CPU is too damn cheesy and makes every shot, intercepts every pass, is a juggernaut on defense, and hits every three point shot

4) The soundtrack of the game is lame and doesn't fit basketball at all

5) The computer makes every shot, intercepts every pass, is a....wait, I said that already!

I could go on and on about why this game sucks but I'm too frustrated to do so. This is by far, the WORST "NBA 2K" game ever made! It looks like the folks at 2K really dropped the ball on this one by resting on their laurels. With the reviews that "NBA Live 10" has received, it looks like the grass is indeed, greener on the other side! Good bye 2K GARBAGE!

It's not like I thought

It is a great simulation which is why I said it was average and not below average. The spotlight on the nuances of the game and some of the extras like creating your own player are cool. And the player faces look so real! But the gameplay is...okay.
The first thing I had to do was speed the game up.
The computer hits EVERYTHING!!!
Reasonably fast players on fast break always seem to get caught by a defender. My defenders don't seem to be able to play defense.
The handles are really tough to get.
My defender taking a swipe at the ball puts me way out of position.
Defending in the post is near impossible.
It seems real glitchy or buggy. It goes in slow motion for no reason.
Sometimes the ref won't hand my player the ball.
There was just so much hype and this game certainly doesn't live up to it. NBA2K8 is the best one. The handles need work but the freedom of motion is excellent! And there's a college game to go with it.
