This game rocks!

First off, this game is for players of all levels. You can jump in and start having fun from moment one, but for the avid gamer there is enough technical play to keep you coming back for more.

The only drawback is that the game seems to favor the loser to keep the score close. Not a big deal, but when your opponent ties it up with a buzzer-beating, under-hand, full court shot, it can really chap your hide ;)

I bought this game for a classic video game tournament that I participate in with my old high school football team, organized by our coach. We also play Tecmo Super Bowl and NHLPA Hockey '93. With 6 players this year and a round-robin structure, it was 9 hours of continuous game play... my poor thumb!

Great classic game!

This product plays great on Sega emulators and original genesis. Will not work on at games Sega HD. This is the only game I have that doesn’t work on that system. It works great on my Sega emulator just like back in the day.Read full review...

A timeless classic.

I recently dug up my old Sega Genesis and half my games were missing.(during my move I suppose) This was one game I knew I had to get. It is still challenging after all these years. I love the expanded roster feature that unlocks after beating all 27 teams. I love the challenge of beating a team on extra hard and computer assistance turned on. I also enjoy playing with the secret characters, Some of them can really torch up the opposition. I just wish players like Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, And Micheal Jordan, Were in the game, That to me is the games only flaw. Compared to the games of today this game is nothing, But for it's time it is one of those few that changed the face of the video game industry.Read full review...

Great

I grew up in the 90's and NBA Jam was and still is a classic. It holds up as a game you can bring out around your friends and have a great time with to this day.

Outstanding Sega Genesis game!!

One of the best games of the 90s! Controls are tight, the music is great, the rosters are terrific (especially great for young people who weren't born when these stars were playing), the action is never-ending and you don't even need to be an NBA fan to enjoy the excitement....Should be in everyone's Sega Genesis collection!Read full review...

HE'S ON FIRE! The BEST basketball game of its time!

I used to go to the arcade everyday to play this game. I would pump quarter after quarter into the arcade machine just to play the 2nd half! Granted this was back when games were just a quarter to play, and Mortal Kombat 2 was in the cabinet right next to the NBA Jam machine, I just couldn't get enough of it. Famous lines such as "He's warming up" & "He's on fire!" will stick in your head throughout the rest of your gaming lives. I have never had so much fun playing basketball, whether it was against the computer or a real person. I practiced this game for a competition that Blockbuster had during the mid-90s, and I practically mastered it. This is a very fun game, and if you are looking for an inexpensive sports game for an older system, this is probably the best one you can pick up. Prior to this series, there was Double Dribble, but this series blew that one off the face of the gaming map! You might even be able to pick up this title for less than $1 on eBay, so do yourself a favor and try it out if you never have.

The main difference between this game and its predecessor is the ability to create and save a play record! There are also minor tweaks that the game developers incorporated, but it is essentially just the same game. If you want a good laugh, choose the Rookies and when you start your game, see how the announcer introduces your team :D This alone is worth picking up the game!

Excited

I'll never take NBA Jam TE out of the box let alone break the seal. I'm sure 10 years from now this game will be worth something, but for now looks great in my collection.

Best Sports Game For A Non Sports Fan!

I remember my friend bringing over NBA Jam to my house when I was younger. He was a spot nut who had all the sport games. I didnt care for sportsd that much, let alone the video games. But this was one game I ALWAYS loved playing. Soon after, NBA Jam TE came out and was NBA Jam with some great improvments. I think this might have been the game that started the 'Big Head' craze. Anyway if you into classic gaming, dont be turned away thinking this is a cheesy sport game, its a very user friendly all around entertaining game wether you keep up with pro basketball or not.Read full review...
