Good quality, poor accuracy

The unit has a surprisingly good build quality, including the back-lit display.
It also includes a laser pointer to assist with aiming which is a nice plus.
However, the stated accuracy (+-2C) is wrong. Mine consistently reads 2-5C (usually 3-4C) higher than actual at room temps (compared to 4 quality digital thermometers which all read to within 0.5C of each other). A before and after reading of the surface that one of the digital thermometer is sitting on is necessary to correct for this unit reading high. Also it seems to suffer a little from heat/cold soaking: if you take a reading of your freezer (with the unit itself 50cm back from the opening to avoid the cool air) and then do another "calibration" check it will read very low, but progressively drift back up towards its norm. The same happens after taking a reading of the engine bay (1m back and to the side to avoid the rising hot air): the sensor will take a while to "cool" down.
In summary this unit is far from accurate, but this can be accounted for by taking background readings of known temps. Meanwhile the build quality is great. For the price its worth the purchase.

Not accurate enough for human use

Doesn't give consistent or accurate temperature. Not suitable for humans as 2-5 degrees off indoors and 5-10 degrees off outdoors. Perhaps useful over prolonged use in environments with stable conditions but not to get accurate temperatures and definitely not for human use.

Price appears to have increased dramatically when COVID needs arose.

Ir temp gun

Pretty straight forward just put a 9v battery in and point and squeeze then read the screen
Seems to show the correct temperature and feels like good quality for the price.

Easy to use

This gun thermometer was bought for soap making. To check the temperature of oils that need to be melted in a pot on the stove and the lye liquid.

So easy. Just press the on button and point at the liquid. Instant accurate temperature.Read full review...

Better than the other thermometers

In this day and age, cheaper sometimes is better, but certainly not with this type of thermometer. Having bought the cheaper ones prior to this, and then buying this, there is simply no comparison. This one is industrial, so will measure a vast rang of things, not just body temps. Its range is -20 to 320 degrees which is awesome. It towers over all the rest, and is still cheap to buy. I love it!!Read full review...

Dont depend on its accuracy and you need to get close due to broad acceptance angle

Inexpensive so I can't be too hard on it.
Good points are:
1. ease of use
2. clarity of display.

Bad points are:
1. accuracy, which is nowhere near specification of 2DegC+_1% of reading. Mine reads 4 or 5 Deg C low at room temperature which is annoying.
2. beam width is quite broad, which means you have to be close to get a reading. At 400mm the target is 50mm across, so the laser is a gimmick, at 1 metre distance you are measuring an area 120mm diameter, so dont be fooled by the small laser spot. It does mean that you need to get really close to an exhaust pipe to get a measurement. I have no idea of accuracy at high temperatures

infrared thermomiter

First off this is to much fun, it is easy to use and accurate, the display is easy to read and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out it, its as simple as point and pull the trigger.

Laser Gun not usable for Coronavirus Check

Wall temperature OK, but personal temperature nbg.
I was hoping for a non-contact Coronavirus temperature check.
Point and shoot (like a gun).
But Laser gun temps were wildly variable, never near a thermometer temperature, so inaccurate/unusable for this purpose.

Accuracy

Quality is excellent. Depending on the application it would be acceptable. Using it for reptile husbandry not really. However I figured out my temp gun and the differences in temp to get within a degree Celsius.Read full review...
