Great step up from a CRT or a 15" LCD

This monitor is a great step up from either a CRT or a smaller LCD monitor. It is useful for a wide variety of tasks, from documents to surfing.

Its big screen is protected by a flat panel of plastic, unlike laptop screens or many lower-quality LCD monitors so it will withstand that annoying finger-jabber who likes to make contact with the screen.

The monitor is bright and has great contrast, with no legibility problems in bright ambient light.

The adjustment buttons are out of view along the right side and while spaced well apart and are easy to push, require you to stretch over to the side to see which button is which.

The monitor tilts up and and down easily enough, but there is no height adjustment. Phone books come in handy at this point.

Nicest Monitor I have ever Seen

My wife and I have owned one of these monitors for about 3 years now. Not only is the picture quality second to none, the glass screen protector can not be beat. The only complaint has been the ability find a comparable current model to match this one for a dual display set up. To fully understand the quality of this monitor one must see it in person, it is no coincidence that these still sell on EBAY for more than 200 used, and 3 years old. The Bottom line... Incredible monitor

I'm writing this review on this monitor right now. It's 3+ years old, and still amazing. The picture is bright, clear, and sharp. The plastic over the front protects the screen from most anything, but doesn't add much glare at all. Definitely not anything noticable. I believe it has one dead pixel, but it's so small I have to look to find it. And, 1 in 3 years is a pretty darn good rate.

The only problem is that the black bezel around it is 1.5" wide, so setting two of these up in a dual display setup would be slightly less convenient than other models (3" between screens).

Honestly, who needs DVI when the monitor is this good?

Never found a better monitor.

I build computers and I am very picky when it comes to selecting the parts I am going to use for a system, same with monitors, I tested 32 monitors for quality, refresh rate, brightness, contrast, ease of use and looks. At the end the NEC MultiSync LCD 1765 really impressed me.

I've had this monitor for 3 years and I don't have a single complain, The image quality is amazing and the overall performance surpasses even Sony monitors.

I never buy NEC but this one here is a keeper, I've recommended this monitor to 5 of my customers and they all thank me for a great purchase.Read full review...

can be placed in a small space because its base folds. and its protective screen acrylic protects its image.

A very classy monitor

The NEC Multisync LCD1765 monitor is by far the classiest looking monitor out there. Its glossy black frame and ultra smooth viewing surface are pure high end stuff. I bought this monitor at a great price. The display is very sharp and clear, this is one of the best LCD monitors that I have come across.
