Worked a Treat
This product solved a wifi dead spot in my basement. It worked exactly as described straight out of the box. I'll add that it was in a new house with modern wiring which probably made it all easier. I wanted the wifi to hook into a chromecast for my home theatre and for that it works beautifully. Wifi to devices is also fast
I was surprised by some of the reviews that said it didn't work. Maybe that was a faulty product or bad wiring. Have used a similar wifi extended before and although not as good as this, all my netgear stuff seems to work well. Price was a premium to others and I paid that because of the brand and follow up. The on/off switch was intermittent and kept on turning off.

I got these to get some internet access in my garage, and although it’s on a different circuit to the rest of the house, it actually works well with 8Mbps download from it. Reliable, fast wifi access throughout our house.
We have tried previous extenders with limited success. Netgear's Powerline WIFI adaptor worked as soon as we plugged it in and has given us reliable, fast wifi access throughout our house.

Pretty simple - almost a no brainer.
As the box says, plug it in and it works.
The light indicating the connection strength achieved over the power circuit is a great idea. We had two different outlets to choose from, one was poor (red light) and the other good (green light). If we hadn't of known this we would have probably been in the poor outlet and not known.
Only thing to note is you need to see the password written on the unit before you plug it in. It's on the plug side, so you can't see it when plugged in.
And I guess it might be nice if it told you whether you need to rename anything and how your device might or might not auto-select WiFi channels around the house. But really it was very simple and works great.

Easily connect far flung parts of the house
I'm getting an NBN router in an inconvenient part of the house, and I needed a way to get a solid internet connection from where the cable/NBN router is to the office where the Ethernet connected devices reside. This was a good way to do that, and faster/more reliable than a WiFi internet repeater.
It uses a web server embedded into the appliance to configure it. You connect to the network, go to the netgear configuration website (mywifiext DOT net) to configure the device. Pretty convenient.Read full review...
