Shop around on ebay for the best price, buy new.

It took me a few try's, I'm a little lame with things, I was only getting 1 bar from the router downstairs before installing the extender now I get full bars. It does not give faster internet speed but it does not have to find the router, One thing you will have a separate (forgot the word) sign on name, example if you name is suzzyQ_Network you will have that for ones not on the extender but the extender will be suzyQ-_Network_EXTRead full review

It is not a plug and play

A little research & the netgear Genie was some help but not all. You do need to hook up your ethernet cable to the computer. Down side was first it took over the hardwired computer then it blocked my access to the internet. So far it is unhooked beyond that I could not tell if it makes any difference. DanRead full review
