Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Hands Up, Don't Move !!

This is a very good, crime investigation series and each episode is enjoyable. It features a fantastic cast of characters whose interactions keep each show fun to watch. The crimes are kind of grisly and may be disturbing to the faint of heart but I find them all very intriguing and realistic. NCIS The Seventh Season DVD set

Watching NCIS on DVD is a Christmas holiday tradition at our house.
It started a few years ago, when my mother was couch-bound by a bad back. I wanted to spend time with her and I cannot deal with hours of tv, with commercials, etc. Knowing she was a NCIS fan, I decided to introduce her to the joys of watching a tv series on DVD. What fun!
By season seven the distinct characters of NCIS are well-established, but the clever writers of this award-winning TV show are good at making sure that they do not turn into mere caricatures of themselves. By this season, they have perfected the balance of mystery with character development. "Very special agent" DiNozzo continues as a splendid comic presence, with actor Michael Weatherly given plenty of opportunity to show his talent for goofy physical comedy. Abby Scuito and Dr Donald Mallard (Pauley Perrette and David McCallum) are likewise big faves around our house, each a nice mix of eccentricity and emotion. I've always suspected that Mom started watching the show because Mark Harmon, who plays Jethro Gibbs, such a silver fox. And who can blame her? He's still great to look at and a great character. And all the others are just a good. . . .

The one current 2011 episode I've seen makes weirdly unnecessary use of soft focus for close-ups--EVERYONE's close ups. Having grown up with shows like Star Trek, that used soft focus specifically to show love relationships (eg. Captain Kirk's POV on comely nurse, captive, warrior queen, etc.) I find this unsettling to say the least. I was relieved to see that this season does not.Read full review...

An excellent amusement while self quarantining

I started with the first two seasons. They were great. But the show seems to improve with every season. Such engaging characters. And even if you do not like them, that's ok. They have one misogynist character I love to hate.Read full review...
