Great way to get into authentic neo geo world
Anyone wanting to get into the neo geo world and not have to deal with very expensive carts , here’s the way to do it . Yes, you will have loading times. But, for same games that are easily able to be found plus better music, I think it’s totally worth it. I looked at the AES and MVS and while there is a certain allure to those , I’m very happy with the CD. There's a reason the NeoGeo CD didn't sell well and neither did the games, and why the CDZ was sold shortly after. This was a nightmare to use. Loading times everywhere for everything. No game was fun enough to justify them in the 1990s and nostalgia or shelf-show off power isn't enough to compensate for that. Seriously, playing the same game on a different console - say, King of Fighters - can take you 5x as long. You'll be waiting for a lot more time than you'll actually be playing.
The upside of this console was CD audio in games, that's it. The games used to be very cheap until recently, they're widely available so it's artificially inflated prices, they still don't sell much in the used market... because of how bad the system is, and the CDZ was an after-thought that couldn't compete with the Dreamcast and PS2 that followed the era.Read full review...

Golden era of gaming!
The Neo Geo systems brought the true arcade experience home. There was no scaled down graphics, it was 100% true to the arcade! The Neo Geo CD was (still is) a great choice because the games are the same but cheaper! Sure there are loading screens, but it’s worth it for the best gaming has to offer.
