This Neutrik plug is a must.

A way to annoy most everyone in ear shot is to have your instrument cable not be terminated with the amp gain up, and the resulting overwhelming hum when the tip of the plug makes contact with a non grounded source. The audio chain does not like this either. This plug helps to insure that possibility not happening. I can change basses without having to mute the amp or changing amp settings. All of my instrument cables have these plugs on the instrument end of the cable. These 1/4 inch two conductor plugs are well engineered. The covers are all metal. The plugs have a very good strain relief. No pops, no hum, no problems.Read full review...

Does a good job. I use the strait ones normally but had a need for the angled version. Buy the components is way better that spending close to $100

The Best

I don't know how I got along without this for so long. OK......I could live without it from now on, but man do I like not having all that noise when changing guitars. I wish it could have a lower profile though. It stands out from the guitar body and kinda gets in the way when you put the guitar on a stand, but that's not a big deal. I really like the feel of this connector....it is heavy-duty quality through and through. I'm gonna buy another one of these.Read full review...

Worked for about 3 weeks.

I used this plug at church so I could unplug my guitar and not have to worry about someone tripping over the cord. It worked for 3 weeks, or about 15-20 times. Now, my cord still works, but the plug pops just like any other plug. Wasted my time and money. I guess I'll try another brand.Read full review...

Straight or 90 degrees Neutrik silent jackplugs.

Fantastic. Neutrik makes high quality connectors. These self grounding jack plugs silence the amps' pop and crackle and allow changing passuve/most guitars and basses without muting the signal chain somewhere.

Only caution is for ACTIVE guitars/basses. Counting on this jack to keep the system quite plugging in doesn't always work. Clears the ground as the preamp powers up with its own noise. Training yourself to plug in slowly usually allows the preamp to stabilize before the ground is lifted. Since that takes a little disipline, your results may vary.

The best plugs ever

I simply LOVE these Neutrik silent switch plugs!
There is no better way to hot swap guitars than these.
Get some to put on your instrument cables, or treat yourself to a new cable with them already installed. You won't be disappointed!Read full review...
