Nikon 1 V2

The Nikon 1 V2 is the second version in the Nikon 1 line up geared for advanced enthusiasts. It is a mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera that was discontinued around 2018. It is small and light making it an attractive take along anywhere camera. The fast and accurate auto focus and high frame rate were class leaders when it was introduced. It produces great photos in good light but the image quality suffers in low light and ISO's over 800. A great travel or snapshot camera.Read full review...

Cool concept but bad execution

The camera has way to much noise for the price. You can easily spend the same amount of money and get yourself a Sony a5000 and get around the same size and better quality. I say that it isn't worth the money and that there are better options for compact cameras. Read full review...

A brilliant little camera tool to capture wildlife and birds in flight (with the right lens).

An excellent tiny camera which I use for bird & wildlife photography. This, combined with the Nikkor 1 70-300 zoom lens (giving an effective range of 189-810 with the 2.7 x crop factor) is brilliant for wildlife.

It has an hybrid auto-focus system that combines 135-point contrast- and 73-point phase-difference detection systems. This allows the Nikon 1 V2 to focus extremely quickly in good light, even on a moving subject.

It also lets you shoot full-resolution RAW stills at 15 frames per second with AF tracking.

So this combination will allow you to easily capture birds in flight which is what I purchased it for.

V2 is a decent camera

Although the sensor is small, the camera overall performs well, definitely an improvement over the preceding V1; more features and feels better in the hand. Works well with the motorized 10-100 zoom, although the combo is reasonably bulky.Read full review...

Good images, nice user interface, and great value in the Nikon 1 Interchangeable Lens Mirrorless system

Like every other camera in the Nikon 1 system this camera can deliver excellent images, especially for those who shoot in raw format and have a modern noise reduction processing application. I like the V2 almost as much as I do the V3 that replaced it. This is very comfortable camera to hold with a perfect built in grip, and the external controls make it more user friendly than the V1 it replaced.Read full review...

The V-2 is probably the best Nikon 1 Camera

The V-2 model is probably the best of the Nikon 1 series, the J-5 would be a close second. I have many of the Nikon 1 cameras and actually use them. Well built, the early ergonomics needed some work and I think the V-2 resolved that. The Nikon 'kit' lenses usually supplied with these cameras are quite adequate for most users. Additionally, the auto-focus and metering work quickly and accurately. Concerning value, many people, myself included, think the Nikon 1 system was somewhat over-priced. That said, I have been using the Nikon 1 cameras since their introduction and I'm still using them. The system has been discontinued since 2018 and is only marginally supported by Nikon at this point.Read full review...

Smallest and Lightest and takes Great Photos !

I think Nikon made a mistake in discontinuing the Nikon 1 line of Cameras and Lenses with the one inch sensor. It is the smallest and lightest mirrorless interchangeable lens system of all the Mirrorless DSLR Cameras. My Nikon 1 V2 Camera and two lenses the 10-100 lens which covers 27mm to 270mm and the 70-300 lens which covers 189mm to 810mm weighs practically nothing and practically fits in the palm of my hand. While Cell Phones are getting better and better, the Nikon 1 System of Cameras and Lenses is quite a bit Smaller and Lighter than Full Frame, Crop Sensor or even Micro Four Thirds...Read full review...

Excellent camera for traveling

Camera is compact, lightweight and has a super fast focus. Excellent picture quality. Viewfinder is a must have. I use the camera with a 10-100mm lens.

Otherwise this is a superb camera, that I highly recommend.

The reason I bought this model camera was primarily to use it with the FT-adapter and a fast tele. I happen to own a Sigma 300 f 2.8. ( 810mm f 2.8 would be a combo, that money can´t buy!)
BUT to my dissatisfaction I noticed that Nikon managed to introduce a BUG! in the V2 that wasn´t there in the V1 ,that has made the use of the above lens impossible! Surprise surprise!
I would be grateful for any suggestions, how to overcome this.

Awesome product Great value for money

Excellent, light weight top quality camera. Goes everywhere with me - never miss a great picture! Bought from Taiwan and pleased with very low import tax - less than 10% - great deal.
